Online Play is Garbage
The clunkyness of this game is terrible... The inputs are trash... The Rock Paper Scissors ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ needs to not be...

I always find it fun when people cry about "rock paper scissors" like, dude, this is the MAIN gaming mechanics of ALL fighting games and has been for DECADES, even SF6 uses it for example.
Quick normal attacks > grabs > guard > quick normal attacks.
Don't need to comment about the rest, since its probably true, and I don't really care, but seeing that specific comment always makes me laugh.

in street fighter 6 you can low poke to open people up............... if this game had lows it would be better......

The fact that the only way to open people up is to grab makes it 2 dimensional. Whiff punishing is not opening someone up, but it is valid.

Ngl this one just a skill issue. Learn the basics of the game it's similar to the Naruto storm games but far more in depth. I don't feel like it's a button mashing similarly to other fighting games. Blocking/parrying and even flashsteps if timed right can change the fight. Using reversals work to get out of combos and there's probably more that I haven't learned. Each character has it's pros and even a few cons and some are OP if used right. A lot of fighting games are similar to this but if you ask me this is miles better than the Naruto games. Take some time and learn.

Online play isn't the best rn because of the fact of how the game released so I doubt many are touching this game for a while. If you got this for only online play then don't expect much and just go for the refund.

i think they should implement 3 throws each charecter and a cooldown period afterward.

Yeah, I know that, there's also more complex mechanics, the rock paper scissors one is just the most basic one.
In fighterz for example you can also jump and intantly dash to cross your opponent etc...
Its totally sad that the combat is even less complex than the naruto storm series, but its also fun when people get mad at that specific core mechanic.

yeah that's the issue, there's no way to open up a person who is blocking, you either end it with a light string or you get auto combo'd after - so it devolves into light hit combo - light hit combo - attempted grab - light hit combo - light hit combo - light hit combo (hits because opponent expected grab - now you can spend resources to do more damage but then it ultimately goes back down to the above. Now you can whiff punish to an extent, but whiff punishing only helps if you have the advantage, because if you have less life, there's no incentive for the opponent to come to you and so they can just counter poke and block (no way to open block as before) - it just feels bad - they should have done locked axis tekken style and have at least straight/tracking moves in combos that can be side stepped. but they can also do a homing from that string so you have to actually outplay, the homing leaves you negative on block for example. Just anything to make the game more fluid and fun.

I mean no - read the above comment. The issue is everything is beaten by block, so the only way to open people is with a Breaker(grab), this leads to stale gameplay in the endgame where you chase each other hoping to get the first grab and hoping you can whiff punish your opponents grab - The exceptions are characters like Renji who when down to the endgame can just become virtually immortal and attack full screen and guard break pretty easily at that point.

They say attack beats grab but this is not the case really - if you are minus you cannot even tech the grab - if you are 0 then odds are the grab is faster and so the rock paper scissors becomes rock and paper - with Rock being Block and Paper being Grab and Scissors is left in the corner crying because attack mix doesn't exist. (16 hours played so far)

We know you don't play fighting games. You have no need to make this game look deeper than it actually is.
Game has a good neutral and thats about it. People are commenting on the gameplay when they don't even actually know what they're talking about.

There is 0 skill in the gameplay. You are actively punished for being good at the game.

If you take your opponents Kikon first, they will get awakening and sublimation faster than you. Meaning the game has a built in comeback mechanic for you being GOOD at the game.

People are already learning that it's better to sandbag your first kikon, get awakening (which gives a ridiculous attack buff) and then kill your opponent in 2 kikon moves.

Another list of issues

1. Multiple infinites in the game
2. Combos that are not true only working because of the lag online
3. Kits that are horrendously awful (Chad, Hisagi, Kira, Stark, Rangiku)
4. Multiple bugs in the game (Byakuya kikon whiffing 90% of the time, Stark being able to confirm his kikon when enemy is above 30% if its lagging)
5. Gameplay oversights (Renji and Sajin cannot beat anyone with a counter in bankai, they can spam their counter and take 0 damage through the entire bankai)
6. Breaker is bugged to hell cause of the netcode
7. Blurry visuals across every single version
8. Multiple TOD for high tier characters in awakening where low tier characters cannot do them. (Rangiku cannot do a TOD in awakening but Ulq has one in awakening that gets you from 100HP to 0hp%)

This is just a small laundry list of issues with the game. The gameplay is not deep, it is tremendously broken. People are starting to catch on and online is getting filled with infinite abusers and lag abusers.

People think that sparking zero was a broken mess? This game is almost worse. The cracks are starting to show.

Problem is people are so positive about the game to the point where it's toxic. The game has problems that need to be fixed. The game-play is not polished whatsoever.

Go into your next game and let your opponent take your first 2-3 kikons and see how easy it is to snowball from there. The game PUNISHES you for keeping up the pressure. This is why bad players can beat anyone, because they are being given buffs for being bad at the game.

You think this game is in its polished state? There are multiple characters who should've been in the base game that already have kits that are unplayable. This game was rushed because almost every game Bandai touches is rushed. Stop paying to beta test their games.

People really think Barragan, Momo, Yammy and Yumichika are DLC sellers, they are cut content. They should've been in the game from the start.

All of this and not 1 mention how Kenpachi's special flash attack is so damn broken it runs through basically every move in the game along with him running through everything in the game lmao tanks EVERYTHING..
idk if any of you ever played DBZ Budokai 3 but it feels like they were going in that direction of the fightin model and just said ♥♥♥♥ it lets just be different.. which is fine but the defense in this game sucks imo. if they didnt punishing you with so much hit stun and slugging/locked up controls after a move so you could block < which would give the guard gauge more purpose and or let you flash step out of a combo that would make for a better more intense gameplay just my 2 cents.

I cant even disagree with you on this because thats one of the biggest problems im having with the game. Like the characters move fast but the imputs are so lagged behind and this aint just online even in offline. its like I can throw up a combo and my game reads the imputs later lol
