Game needs a better combat system
y'all have to improve the combat creativity in this game. I'm trying to link combos with every other move u can think of and its like the game is forcing me to press the same 2 buttons each and every single time. i don't wanna play a game that has no combat creativity. Devs u should play ninja storm and learn a couple of things because this combat system ain't worth 60+ dollars, let alone the crashes I'm dealing with offline. come on bro...(praying for a way better update) good luck players.

You're acting like Storm has any either

Last time I checked, Storm is pretty much the same way in terms of combo variety.

You're probably playing in Standard mode instead of Advanced which gives you more control over your combos. Not saying it will add completely new combos but at least it will stop forcing you into stuff you don't want to do.

i tried that, and tbh im still finding myself not able to connect grabs with any type of attack bc u can just hold block. in storm u are able to punish by timing ur specials and all. even in demon slayer ur able to connect 3 or 4 types of strings. but at the end of the day it is what it is, i just with there was more to offer with the combat strings. other than that games find aside from the crashing

oh plus u have directional combos in storm and in demon slayer, in the end just feel like they should add more to the combat mechanics

I can't quite remember how it worked in Demon Slayer, but in Storm, we had to mash one button and could hold up or down to execute two different combo strings, right? So, two combos that you could cancel out of to do other moves. Similarly, in this game, you don't have to go all the way in your combos—you can stop mid-combo to perform other moves and even chain other stuff. This game was everything I hoped for and more, though I would have appreciated a bit more variety in the combos too. Anyway, I'm just saying that Storm wasn't the ideal example for this game to take inspiration from, that's all.

I don't know what are you talking about but go and play Tekken, Dead or Alive or Street Fighter if you want a ton of combos. There's enough variety in this game between characters and i also played the Ninja Storm series. This game is alright in terms of combat so get a grip or leave it.

bro read the rest of what i said and "get a grip" its just my opinion

I'm one of the lucky few that doesn't have any major technical issues so I've been having a blast with this game. The only issue I've been having so far is that it boots on the wrong screen, I need to switch it to the right one each time until there's a fix. No crashes or anything else though.

it's a rock paper sissors game and they said so multple times. If it was reaction and quick button combo pacsed it would not work as good with that system.
Seems like most of the combos need Reverse meter to even be viable, yellow reverse is legit a combo extended and flash steps follow the opponent after a knockback. Game doesn't have real throws, breakers are there just to stop people from blocking.

I think the combo/battle system we have is quite interesting, it seems to be taking cues from current fighters like Guilty Gear Strive and Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising. Heck the neutral game feels slow on purpose so getting whiff punishes seem big. Has a solid RPS going, I like that stuff

Imo storm was a little looser with it's combo system which I appreciate

The reason you noticed similarities with those games you said its because all of them are footsie fighting games. I dont understand why people keep asking and saying combos over and over again. Its almost like they dont play a lot of fighting games and/or cant understand what they watched since the first gameplay trailer. This is a footsie fighting game with neutral and managing distance/poking your opponent as a focus. I dont remember people asking for combos on Storm like this, yet that game has only one button to mash. But the internet like to follow one another without thinking for themselves.
How are you guys switching to advanced controls?
