✅ TUTORIAL - HOW TO FIX CRASHES, NO SOUND ETC ✅
🔒 Crash Fix: 🔒

1. Go to Windows Task Bar -> Settings -> Language and Region.
2. Change your Region (just in case) and FORMAT (important) to Japan, then — MOST IMPORTANT — change your system language to Japanese (this is your Windows system language, not the in-game language).
3. If you don’t have Japanese installed, click "Add language" and download it.
4. DONT FORGET to change the language to Japanese on the taskbar (next to the time and date In the bottom right corner of your monitor) after downloading.

5. Enjoy the game. 💪 (shoutout to @loampo)

(scroll down for the steam deck solution)

🔍 Bonus tips:

1. If the game still doesn’t work and you have the latest Windows 11 version, roll back to the previous version of Win 11.
2. Update your graphics drivers.
3. Verify game files -> Right-click on the game in your Steam library -> Installed Files -> Verify.
4. Add the command "-dx11" to the Steam launch options (I'm not sure if it works, but several people mentioned that it helped them, so I'm adding it just in case).

🔊
* If you still have audio issues, run the game from the file "BLEACH_Rebirth_of_Souls.exe" as administrator. (You'll find the file in the game's main folder).

**(Or from "start_protected_game.exe" if you want access to online features.)

🎨
*** If, for some reason, character selection textures still aren't showing up, run the game in compatibility mode for Windows 7 or 8.

😡
****If you are encountering a red screen, please try the following solution.

1. Nvidia APP -> Please change the display quality from [Automatically select on Windows] to [High performance] in the Application options (graphics basic settings)

2. Taskbar -> Graphics Settings -> Add "BLEACH_Rebirth_of_Souls.exe". (You'll find the file in the game's main folder) -> Options -> High Performance.

*****If you are using a multiple monitor, please do not move the screen from sub monitor until the title screen appears.

🔍 !!!! ***(ANOTHER CRASH SOLUTION - THANKS TO Vigilante . fl | 7)**** !!!!

You dont need to change to japanese...

Follow this:

Open Regedit on your computer:
Windows Start - Run, or WindowsKeys + R: Type "Regedit"
Navigate to the key: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International

And change the Strings called: sDecimal - sList - SMonDecimalSep and SMonThousandSep
To the show here:
sDecimal .
sList ,
SMonDecimalSep .
SMonThousandSep ,

Or you can just open a cmd console on your computer and copy this lines:
reg add "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International" /v sDecimal /t REG_SZ /d . /f

reg add "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International" /v sList /t REG_SZ /d , /f

reg add "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International" /v SMonDecimalSep /t REG_SZ /d . /f

reg add "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\International" /v SMonThousandSep /t REG_SZ /d , /f

(extra solution by @Vigilante . fl | 7)

+ his explanation:
~
"This is the the international format for some type of systems, and when you have other languages that are changed, but these are the best to go.

Anyway this registry is changed on any case you chnage again the System Settings Language, anyway people can export or save a print screen of what was the caracter before change.

In my mind this is the best way to deal this problem, that in any case can happen on another games."

⚡ *another quick method* (I don't know the original creator of the method, but I'll mention them here if they reveal themselves.)

1. Win+R
2. intl.cpl
3. Change Data time to Japan
4. Start game

__________________

🎯 Another solution, the scripts were written by user @Parz (big thanks to him).

He made two scripts that kind of solve this issue—one sets the date format to Japanese.

This one sets it to the Japanese date format.

@echo off setlocal echo [INFO] Saving current date/time format... :: Export current regional settings to a .reg file for backup reg export "HKCU\Control Panel\International" "%~dp0original_locale_backup.reg" /y >nul echo [INFO] Backing up to: %~dp0original_locale_backup.reg :: Set Japanese locale formats reg add "HKCU\Control Panel\International" /v sShortDate /d "yyyy/MM/dd" /f >nul reg add "HKCU\Control Panel\International" /v sTimeFormat /d "HH:mm:ss" /f >nul reg add "HKCU\Control Panel\International" /v LocaleName /d "ja-JP" /f >nul :: Apply changes instantly RUNDLL32.EXE user32.dll,UpdatePerUserSystemParameters echo [INFO] Japanese date/time format applied. pause endlocal

And this second one reverts to the normal time format.

T@echo off setlocal :: Check if the backup exists if not exist "%~dp0original_locale_backup.reg" ( echo [ERROR] Backup file not found: %~dp0original_locale_backup.reg echo Make sure you ran 'set_japanese_format.bat' first. pause exit /b ) echo [INFO] Restoring original date/time format from backup... :: Restore registry settings reg import "%~dp0original_locale_backup.reg" >nul :: Apply changes instantly RUNDLL32.EXE user32.dll,UpdatePerUserSystemParameters echo [INFO] Original format restored. pause endlocal

To make this work, you need to save them as .bat files, which can be done through Notepad.

🎮 If you have a problem with a gamepad: 🎮

1. Download DS4 Windows.
2. The first time you open DS4Windows, it will prompt you to install the necessary drivers for your controller. Click "Install the DS4 Driver" and follow the instructions. You may need to restart your PC.
3. In some cases (games), you may need to select an additional option if the controller is not detected. To do this, click Settings in DS4Windows and check the "Hide DS4 Controller" option.
4. Enjoy.

*If you have an Xbox controller and the DS4Windows method isn't working, try downloading Xbox Accessories from the Microsoft Store. Once you open the app, the controller should be detected. Give this a try as well.

✨ Additional solution if your controller isn't detected or it's not recognized as the second player (It also supports local multiplayer on one PC).

- Use Steam Big Picture Mode:

- Go to Steam's Big Picture Mode and check the controller settings.
Make sure the game is set to recognize the controller as a separate player in multiplayer mode.

- In Big Picture Mode, go to Settings > Controller Settings and ensure the correct controller profile is selected.

🖥️ "Wrong monitor" solutions: 🖥️

Method 1: Windows System Settings
Right-click on the desktop and select Display Settings. Identify which monitor is set as the primary. If you want the game to launch on a specific monitor, make sure that monitor is set as "Main" (click Set as main display). In the Multiple displays section, you can also set which monitor will be used for displaying games (depending on your system version).

Method 2: Keyboard Shortcuts to Move the Game Between Monitors
Windows + Shift + Left/Right Arrow – moves the game window to another monitor if you have extended displays set up. (do not move the screen from sub monitor until the title screen appears.)

🛠️ STEAMDECK: 🛠️

Install Proton GE.

- Installing Proton-GE (Community Version for Better Compatibility):

1. Switch to Desktop Mode:
2. Press the Steam button -> Power -> Switch to Desktop Mode.
3. Install "ProtonUp-Qt":
4. Open the Discover Store (shopping bag icon on the taskbar).
5. Search for ProtonUp-Qt and install it.
6. Launch ProtonUp-Qt:
7. After launching, click Add version.
8. Select Proton-GE and download the latest version.
9. Return to Gaming Mode and Set Proton-GE:
10. Go to the Game Properties -> Compatibility and select Proton-GE from the list.
You're all set! 🎮

11. Start the game.
12. Set low settings for best performance.
13. Enjoy.

💡*Bonus Extra Quick Solution (for this one shoutout to @loampo)

1. Go to the Game page, then Properties > Language
2. Set Language to Japanese.
3. Enjoy.

(However, if this doesn’t work, I recommend method number 1. And if it works but the performance is too weak, I suggest using method number 1.)

If the game still doesn’t work with method number 1 (it should), it’s best to combine both, as the first method will improve performance, and the second will definitely allow the game to run.

⚠️ Someone asked how to restore the registry to its default settings: ⚠️

For English (United States):

sDecimal: . (dot — decimal separator)
sList: , (comma — list separator)
SMonDecimalSep: . (dot — currency decimal separator)
SMonThousandSep: , (comma — currency thousand separator)

Don't copy the content in parentheses, I just added them for clarification.

*
sDecimal: .
sList: ,
SMonDecimalSep: .
SMonThousandSep: ,

If anyone needs a specific language, I’m happy to help.

🔧 Potential Solution for 🖥️Black Screen🖥️ on Startup (Game Won't Launch or Still Crashes
Despite Other Fixes)

For some players, this specific method finally got the game running — give it a try if
nothing else worked:

1️⃣ Run Steam as Administrator
- Close Steam completely (make sure it’s not running in the background).
- Right-click the Steam shortcut on your desktop or in the Start menu.
- Select "Run as administrator".

2️⃣ Change Game Language to Japanese
This helps bypass certain region-based errors.

- Open Steam and go to your Library.
- Find BLEACH: Rebirth of Souls in the list.
- Right-click the game and select "Properties".
- Go to the "General" tab.
- Under "Language", select Japanese from the dropdown menu.
- Let Steam update the game files (it should be a quick download).

3️⃣ Configure Game Executable Settings
Now we tweak the game's core files to ensure it runs smoothly:

- Go to your Steam installation folder (default path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam).
- Navigate to: steamapps\common\BLEACH Rebirth of Souls.

3.1 - Adjust BLEACH_Rebirth_of_Souls.exe Properties
- Find BLEACH_Rebirth_of_Souls.exe.
- Right-click it and select "Properties".
- Go to the Compatibility tab.

Tick ✔️ "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select Windows 7.
Tick ✔️ "Disable full-screen optimisations".
Tick ✔️ "Run this program as administrator".

Next, click on "Change high DPI settings" (still under Compatibility).

Tick ✔️ "Use this setting to fix scaling problems..." under High DPI scaling override.
Tick ✔️ "Override high DPI scaling behavior" and set it to "Application".

Hit OK and Apply everything.

3.2 - Repeat for start_protected_game.exe
- Find start_protected_game.exe in the same folder.
- Repeat the exact same Compatibility settings from Step 3.1.

4️⃣ Launch the Game!
Now go back to Steam, hit Play, and see if it works.

⚙️ Bonus Tip:
If the game still struggles:

1. Try setting Steam itself to Windows 7 compatibility mode (same steps as the game files).

2. If it launches but crashes after a cutscene or menu, set the game to "Borderless Windowed" mode in the settings (if you can reach them).

3. Set your desktop resolution to 1080p (1920x1080) temporarily if you're using a higher resolution or ultrawide monitor.

4. Go to Properties in Steam again → Launch options.
Add: -windowed -noborder

5. Disable any overlays (Discord, Steam Overlay, GeForce Experience).

6. Disable Vsync in the game (it seems to be a bit broken at the moment) to SIGNIFICANTLY increase game performance. (In some cases, this results in a HUUUGE increase in FPS)

💾 If for some reason someone wants to delete their saves or reset their progress...

1. Delete Savedata or ID folder:

%USERPROFILE%/AppData/Roaming/BLEACH Rebirth of Souls/Savedata/{64BitSteamID}/

🖥️ *Another Black Screen Fix* (if the main method doesn't work for you) 🖥️

For some users, the game doesn't launch at all in fullscreen mode. To work around this:

To launch (force) a game in borderless or windowed mode using Steam launch commands, follow these steps:

1. Open Steam and go to your game library.

2. Right-click on the game and select Properties.

3. In the General tab, click on Set Launch Options.

4. Enter one of the following commands in the text box:

4.1 For borderless mode:
-borderless

4.2 For windowed mode:
-windowed

Close the window and launch the game. It should now start in the selected mode.

*5. If you want to combine both modes (e.g., borderless in a window), try using:

-windowed -borderless

(WARNING!)
(OLD YAPPING) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

After this bs you're not going to sleep until you fix the game.

This is probably the worst game launch in PC and Steam gaming history - a game that straight-up doesn’t work. Not even the menu functions.

Someone responsible for this should step up and answer. This is straight-up destroying the company’s reputation and farming negative reviews — ones people likely won’t bother to change even when the game starts working (they’ll forget, won’t care, or feel the review is still justified after a launch like this).

A few people responsible for this port, plus the project lead, should be kicked to the curb and never touch game development again.

(Maybe I overdid it a little, but guys, come on.)

*It seems that those trolls who said the game works for them aren't trolls, they're just Asians and it actually works for them. I take back what I said.

If it works for you, thats awsome. But for ALOT of people, including me. We cant even start a match expect tutorial that gets buged out. Then it crashes. Same for offline training and story, just insta crash. Hell even Glossary freeze the game.
Shish Mar 20 @ 5:50pm
Im on Windows 11, RTX 4070 ti and i5 13600kf. So pretty much a medium to high end pc +- 2k euros, and this game crashes left and right, only thing i can play is the first phase of Yoruichi's tutorial battle with/without sound 50% of the time with each crash.
Crenzy Mar 20 @ 5:59pm
no brother there is also Jujutsu Kaisen game and it's way worse than this... Imagine when like over 9k players hopping in game and after 2 hours it goes to 100 players (no cap)

At least Jujutsu Kaisen works and runs fine, even if it's a boring game.
Franky Mar 20 @ 6:04pm
Crashes as soon as i agree to the terms and service shi....

Don't you worry bro, it doesn't work for him as well, he's just farming clown badges.

This sounds like an average bamco release tbh

Hasn't Bamco been doing that with every anime game they've put out for a while now? Just phoning it in with every game and milking hard with DLC. Sounds like even Sparking Zero couldn't fully escape.
Ducarius Mar 20 @ 6:21pm
game works for me but im just struggling to find a match online. They're fumbling bad. I hope they turn this around in the upcoming patches. They can't go down like this. :steamsad:
I'm assuming crashing is not happening for Win10 users because I haven't had any. However, the game runs at 60fps in menus and 30fps in character select and in-game for me and there's not even a 30fps option.

What's going on??

To be fair, most of their game releases are fine or at least work fine. Naruto games, Elden Ring, Dragon Ball Sparking, Scarlet Nexus, JoJo, One Piece Odyssey, Tekken, Sand Land, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, One Piece World Seeker, Ni No Kuni 1 and 2, DB FighterZ, Little Nightmares, Enslaved, Dark Souls 3, Tales of Arise, Code Vein, One Punch Man (worst anime game ever, btw), Soul Calibur, The Dark Pictures Series, even Black Clover.

All of those games worked well or perfectly when released.

Whether these are good games or not is a debatable issue, some are, others aren't, most are mediocre, but AT LEAST they worked. Of course, Bleach fans, after 20 years of waiting, get their first game, which... TOTALLY DOESN'T WORK. All comments like "works fine for me" are trolls, every single one of them. The game works on consoles, but it's unplayable on PC in every case. Regardless of the hardware.
Ok let's be honest This is not the worst game launch on steam or PC did you all forget about PayDay 3 That is absolutely terrible

PayDay was and still is a weak game, BUT AT LEAST IT LAUNCHED NORMALLY WITH SOUND AND YOU COULD PLAY IT WITHOUT CRASHES.
