Do you think I'd enjoy this?
So I've been sitting on the fence with trying this game. But I'm edging closer and closer. I've never really played board games outside of games like Monopoly, Sorry, etc, etc like 30 years ago as a child. So no warhammer board games, or D&D, or any of that. I have a tiny bit of card game experience with games like KARDS, and a TINY bit of Magic and Hearthstone. I enjoyed them all, especially KARDS because I find WW2 games enjoyable. THAT being said I also enjoy Paradox games like Crusader Kings, Hearts of Iron, and Stellaris for their infinite story telling and possibilities with each new game.

I've been wanting to TRY and get into board games but the "lore" or setting of D&D never really grabbed me, but DUNE lore/universe seems a lot more interesting to me, which is why this game has my attention.

Well, without being TOO biased, should I give it a shot? Thanks folks.

This game is mainly a worker placement game with deck building if that means anything to you. If you are a big fan of Dune I feel it is definitely worth trying. The theme is fantastic. If you have an IOS or Android tablet (or phone though maybe not the best due to limited screen size) you could get it for $11 vs $23 so the investment isn't as steep. I would definitely say it is worth it and will get even better when they release expansions but I'm an avid board gamer and a huge Dune fan so I am definitely biased.

Nah, you cant enjoy this without the best house, Ordos, which is absent from this game.

Funny joke but to the OP: don't take this seriously :-)

Mainiach has worded it perfectly.

Im not joking, they are more interesting than generic baddies Harkonnen, or generic good guys Atreideis, they are inbetween them both, humans without humanity, greedy, trickery, calculative, bartering, technological, resourcefull, neutral, manipulative, sneaky, spyish, treacherous, i love me, the most interesting house, this game needs em.

I think you will enjoy it. It's a mix of deckbuilding with worker pacement - by using specific cards you can send your agents to places on the board to get specific bonuses.
There is in-game tutorial which is very good, it will run you through the rules. For me as a board gamer, I would rank Dune Imperium as medium level complexity game - the rules aren't that hard once you get familiar, but the strategic side of making optimal moves is way harder

no, you like much more action packed things and this is a board game. You also prefer some kind of nudity.

Frankly I think so. I never likes a digital board game before but the deckbuilding and card game in general made this fun to me. I was also on the fence, bought it yesterday on discount and now I'm trying to convince my carg game friends to try it too.

Give the digital version of Talisman a try. This one looks like too much work...
