The Nuclear Option
Family Atomics should be fast tracked as a game option and not tied to Immortality content.

Family Atomics address a very real issue of Imperium Row stagnation. While stagnation does not seem like an issue for new players to the game, it becomes increasingly bad as the table's skill increases and no one wants to purchase the 1-cost and underpowered 2-cost cards.

Family Atomics fixes this issue nicely and breathes life into the deck-building portion of the game play.

Please give us a Family Atomics option when we start games.

Thanks!

I say we take off, nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

My experience with Atomics is kinda a mixed bag. The design idea is interesting, but speaking from experience, I've often seen good players use Atomics to blow up a good imperium row so that other players can't profit from it rather than clear a stagnant one. Since Immortality came out, some cards like Jessica or Gurney Halleck are almost never played anymore since they are usually blown up as soon as they appear.

Family Atomics vote here. It's a great feature.

I'm new to the game and know nothing of the rules, but speaking from a lore standpoint regarding Dune and family atomics, there has to be a big negative to using them. There just has to be. They are against the Great Convention and the only reason Houses Major have them is as a fail safe against the GC falling apart. Sounds like it's just a simple board eraser mechanic that is being talked about and that sounds wrong from the outside looking in. If a House Major used them indiscriminately, it should result in the galaxy turning against them. I thought it was generally considered a better option to become a house in exile than use atomics. At least, houses had gone in exile and none had used atomics that I know of.

I'd love to see this included as an option we can toggle on or off.

That level of ”canon” isnt needef for a game that allows leto and paul to war against each other over arrakis.

Yeah, family atomics really does help when you have imperium row filled with scouts, sardukars and other cards you can't or wont buy.

But in competitive they are not being used for that reason, but to get an S tier card asap and try to build your deck around it.
You will see all Family Atomics used before the end of the second round.

I get what they were trying to do with them, but the whole idea behind is just a bandage fix.
I'd honestly just prefer if Empire Row cards are slid from left to right, and that the last card gets trashed at the end of the round.

It's crazy there's no market manipulation in a game like this, hell, even dales merchant have it.
