Implementing balance changes since the game is in online platform?
I'm not saying we should do this now. It seems the DEVs to have alot on their plate atm. I wanted to know if this was ever a part of the plan of the design team. I would consider myself a veteran of the game and though I think the game is great, there are some very obvious balance issues the game has in terms of leaders and imperium card power level.

This issues are minor I think as decision making is what ultimately determines the outcome so the better play generally still wins most of the time. It would be interesting to make changes to leaders and imperium cards to see how the meta changes every month or so. The issue is that it will differ from the paper board game but I think it would be cool to have other options.

On a side note, I don't think power level is that big of a deal in the imperium row as dead cards are. I would rather remove saudakar infantry, scout, yueh and reduce the cost of web of the power to 3. i think having dead cards on the board kills the game. It already feels bad when the best choice is not to buy something from the row since you have a good card in ur deck you want to draw as much as possible.

Hi!
Im sure no developer here will answer you about any plans. All the more its almost impossible that some changes to the row or leaders will be implemented.

Why do you say so? I don't expect something like this before the immortality expansion. I think it is possible to make small changes such as changing the persuasion cost or removing cards from the game.

Either way I would like to hear on what do you think you would change if this was possible.

If you really want to play like that, play on the tts servers. The official digital app is unlikely to listen to you.

I think Scout and Yueh aren't *that* bad as they are technically an upgrade to some cards in your deck, but Saudakar Infantry is definitely awful. I haven't seen anyone ever buy it. I can't imagine a situation where anyone would even consider it, either.

Infantry is bad. But there is a niche scenario where you MIGHT consider buying and that's when you have the tech that gives extra swords and it's just before the last round of the game and you need to win the final combat. But yeah, definitely not a great card.

The cost of diluting a card in your deck is really high though. Even if scout upgraded all my purple and yellow cards in the deck to a scout, I still think I would have consider buying it. It's basically buying a card to reverse trash a card in your deck. For a card to be 1 persuasion. I want it to either have a very good action ability or faction access

No, this is not a live service game, so no "balance" changes are expected. A good digital board game always follows the original rulebook to the letter. It was playtested by dozens of people and deemed balanced by the author.

There's a point to be made though that when new cards are introduced through expansions, some of the older cards will be left behind a bit in the dust and simply be worse in comparison in the context of the new game mechanics.

What they could do is making like a new redux game mode or something where they can play around more with balancing, but still keep the original balancing around.

Reminds me of the lord of the rings living card game, digital edition.

People in charge of the game thought, in their all mighty wisdom, that it would be better to change the rules and mechanics of the game and actually sell a different experience than the original card game it was based on.

Well, let just say that it didn't work.

If you call your game "Dune Imperium", guess what? People are going to expect "Dune Imperium". Not "Dune Imperium, sunday afternoon edition" or "Dune Imperium, madness in the sand".

Just good ol' "Dune Imperium" exactly as in the boardgame.

But do not despair, mods are here to help you in this most desperate hour.

I dont belive they would ever make such balance changes but tbh its something i am really missing. A little boost to few leaders would be amazing. But the main thing is the imperium row. Shadows for 2 or delegate for 1 its very very cheap for constant intersellar access, and meanwhile like all other 1 cost cards are just absolutely not playable. I have like 200 games played and the main difference beetwen this edition and new uprising is that in the uprising i can see a reason to buy any card in the imperium row. I just keep playing because its my favourite game but like i said it would be amazing to see some digital deluxe changes :)

I don't think they should change the base game because some people expect the board game version. I do think this is a good place to make an experimental game mode that does have balance changes. I'm sure the folks at the discord would have good ideas on what to do.

Personally I would like to just remove some bad cards from the row and keep the playable ones. It wouldn't take too much programming time. I really didn't like the concept of house atomics but it also felt necessary because sometimes the row just feels dead.

Right now they have alot on their plate so I'm very sure its not a priority. They are definitely capable of making slight changes though since they do that for the single player mode.
