- Using Rabban as a leader, to improve my chances of winning battles (even though in the end I only won one 2 VP combat round)
- Acquire very few cards, the more cards, the smaller your chances of drawing Kwisatz Haderach. I did sacrifice a round to pick up another Kwisatz Haderach; other rounds I only took another Lady Jessica and 1 Sand Worm, nothing else
- Went for Swordmaster as fast as I could
- Hardly participated in the early combat rounds, used them to build a good supply of troops and keep 6 spice (with 2 K.H. you can almost always get to Heighliner, so better to save that move for rounds when I want to deploy lots of troops; in previous attempts I often had too many troops in my supply but no ability to deploy them)
- Used Kwisatz Haderach to aggressively climb the ladders and get 3 out of 4 alliances (in the last-but-one round I even held all 4 alliances)
- Lots of Hardy Warriors, lots of Signet Rings on blue spaces (especially once you have an alliance)
Even with Rabban it took me several attempts to make it work, but this last game felt like a landslide. Thanks to Plans Within Plans and Choam Conversion, I ended up with 14 points where in other games I often struggled to reach a decent number, or at best get a 10 point draw that I lost due to spice.
However, I don't think we're talking about the same challenge :( I was referring to the one in the expansion, where the game is in epic mode and the opponents start with 3 VP and a ship at the top of the track
