Why not? I love the zoom! Even when the cards are fully visible, like they are when you're buying them, I use the zoom. The Zoom Equals Awesome.
1. Once again, there is not enough space to accomodate full-size cards at the bottom of the screen (unless you shrink them to a size smaller than the current Intrigue cards). They are cut just below the agent icons, meaning that full-size cards would obstruct the "Stillsuits" space and a corner of the battle board.
2. Comparing an ultrawide screen and a phone is irrelevant. The game would keep the aspect ratio and scale even if you launch it on the Times Square screen.
3. When you're holding cards in the physical game, you also don't see the entire information and have to move (=zoom) them.
4. Somehow, you're fine with the market row being completely minimized and requiring a mouse-over, but doing the same with the cards in hand is suddenly an issue.

And you wasted a minute indeed because this way the cards are still lifted only partially, without revealing the blue part. You clearly lack understanding of dimensional proportions.
Even so, I very much believe in the zoom. It's elegant and beautiful.
