Please, please, please developers - give us more turn timer options. 90 seconds, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, unlimited time if that's what we choose to use. Even give us a 60 second option for those speedsters.
But, only having 90 seconds as the only option really sucks! Please stop ignoring this issue. It really makes it difficult to enjoy this game online, especially with the new Rise of Ix expansion. There will be a lot more thinking involved and more time will be super appreciated!
For this, just play in Async mode.
Each player could also have their own overtime bank (e.g. 5 minutes) that starts ticking down once you go over the default turn timer. There's usually couple plays during the game where you need extra time to click through your stack of actions through the slow animations.
Also - if 90 seconds is too long for you, then just end your turn sooner. You don't have to wait the full 90 seconds.
How exactly does async mode work? I am buying a copy of the game for my wife so we can play, and I get how the online mode works. I'm wondering what the mechanics of the async game are if we are in the same room together but need more time for our turns. Does the game e-mail us or message us on STEAM somehow?
I also like the idea of a reserve/overtime bank, like some people have suggested in this discussion. That would be a good alternative to just increasing the timer, and it could also be made optional.
