Mutliplayer turn timer needs adjusting
90 seconds is plenty early on, but it's far too constraining later in the game when you have to plan more. Worse, when the elapsed timer hands your turn off to the AI, it's more than happy to throw away all your troops into a conflict you either can't win or rewards you don't need. I can survive a sub-optimal card play, but when it burns all my troops on a worthless conflict when late game 2VP cards are coming up...yeah.

Either increase the time limit as the game goes on (bonus time once stage III hits), or give players a reserve when they go over 90 seconds.

At least offer a host option to adjust time?

Or disable the AI from committing troops when you miss a turn?

Adjusting time of players' turn is really important! But in my case i would prefer to cut it to 60 seconds because i've played many times. I dont need much time and would like to play with fast players...

I have been asking for more turn timer options since this game first released, and it has always fallen on deaf ears at Dire Wolf for some unknown reason. It is one of the most frustrating things about this game! 90 seconds is NOT ENOUGH for new players, or players who are enjoying the game with their friends and chatting and having fun while playing.

Please, please, please developers - give us more turn timer options. 90 seconds, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, unlimited time if that's what we choose to use. Even give us a 60 second option for those speedsters.

But, only having 90 seconds as the only option really sucks! Please stop ignoring this issue. It really makes it difficult to enjoy this game online, especially with the new Rise of Ix expansion. There will be a lot more thinking involved and more time will be super appreciated!

For this, just play in Async mode.

Async is a really poor implementation. And the point is that we want to play online together so we can talk and enjoy each others company while we are playing. Why are you against adding more turn time options? It hurts nobody, and only helps a lot of people. You can choose the turn time you want. More options are better.

Funny enough, it was longer when the game first came out and I hated it.

If there are multiple options then everyone is happy.

Having different turn timer options could be nice.

Each player could also have their own overtime bank (e.g. 5 minutes) that starts ticking down once you go over the default turn timer. There's usually couple plays during the game where you need extra time to click through your stack of actions through the slow animations.

I rather have 60s turn, 90s is too long

Yes, more options are better. Longer options and shorter options. Everyone is happy, then.

Also - if 90 seconds is too long for you, then just end your turn sooner. You don't have to wait the full 90 seconds.

That’s exactly what Async is. My friend and I play it this way. It’s just like online mode, but no 90 second timer. I’m not against more options. I just think people don’t realize Async works like that.

Yeah, me and my friends play async mode exclusively, and i don't really play with others, but the lack of options is odd, and should be addressed, as its a simple fix.

How exactly does async mode work? I am buying a copy of the game for my wife so we can play, and I get how the online mode works. I'm wondering what the mechanics of the async game are if we are in the same room together but need more time for our turns. Does the game e-mail us or message us on STEAM somehow?

First of all allow us to skip the animation. Nothing more frustrating than watching your timer shriking while watching the ultra slow animations of getting VPs for alliances and shipping after some complex move

More turn timer options would be great for those that want to use it. Being able to make it both shorter and longer would be ideal so everyone is happy.

I also like the idea of a reserve/overtime bank, like some people have suggested in this discussion. That would be a good alternative to just increasing the timer, and it could also be made optional.

It is exactly like online mode. You play together, you see each others moves etc. It isn't one person play, then the other is notified in some way.
