Where do you find good advanced tips and guides for this game?

I've written a somewhat basic and messy guide for this game, but I'm not sure it's advanced enough for your taste. The thing is, Dune Imperium is a very subtle game where each turn, you have to adapt to specific circumstances dictated both by random chance and the actions of your opponents, which makes it very hard to write a "guide" in the general sense of the term. Here, you can't really repeat and apply an optimal strategy over and over, you need to learn to improvise, be opportunistic and adapt.

The best advice I have to give you is to learn the basics by playing against 3 hard AI with draft leader selection. You can consider that you have mastered the essential once you are able to win consistently (80% + of the time) in those circumstances.

I understand that Dune Imperium is pretty situational. But its also mostly skill based, so you get better with experience. So there are things that professional players now, that i dont. Someone just needs to write them down.

For example i know, that combat is sometimes more important and sometimes you should just focus on other things. But in which rounds/situations with which leader/position should i focus on what? These are things i did not really find on the internet. Its pretty specific and indepth, but would help to truly undestand that game.

Thanks for the tip with the bots!
I will try it out but at the moment im just winning 50% vs normal difficulty 😄

Combat is an excellent example of how it's impossible to give specific advices, because there's a lot of variables that should influence your decision:

-Turn order: the general idea is that the later you play, the easier it is to overbid someone and have the last word in a combat. But a player can get an early Swordmaster and suddenly have a third action allowing them to go last. Or the Mentat. Or a Kwisatz Haderach in hand. Or an intrigue card allowing them to retrieve an agent and play it again out of the blue.

-Troops in garrison. The more the merrier, but here again, there's a lot of variables allowing you to recruit more troops through unexpected means.

-Spice available: if someone has 6+ spice available, be wary of a Heighliner drop.

-Intrigue cards in hand: think twice before challenging someone with a lot of intrigue cards in hard, because there's a lot of combat intrigue cards in the deck.

And that's not even all, good players will also remember the cards you purchased, especially if those have a lot of swords on it, and so on.
