Uprising is vastly superior
Interesting choice by Dire Wolf to adapt the outdated, inferior first edition of this game. My gaming group dropped DI since Uprising is a much better game. Very disappointing.

Agree, but the development probably started way before uprising was being prototyped.

One supposes that eventually Uprising will come to this game as well.

Seems like a miscommunication between the physical and digital teams. The digital team must have known the main team was working on Uprising back when it was prototyped in 2022. The two games have mostly the same framework. They could have decided to spend an extra 6 months to a year to adapt Uprising instead.

Well, they didn't mention Uprising at all in their roadmap. We won't be seeing it for a long time.

Dune Imperium is easier to learn anyway and still a very good game. Also the expansions are coming and will be better yet. Maybe someday we'll see uprising.
You're not the real Yagoo, he would never say that!

Try to think for 2 seconds.

A digital version of the first game doesn't impact negatively the sells of the boardgame Uprising but it nicely adds some money to their coffers.

WIn win scenario for them.

Plus, there's still ppl playing the first game and expansions and knowing Uprising will be released after ix and immo, I think it's a very good decision.

The plan is to proceed with the expansions in release order. I would consider Uprising as an expansion. A CHUNKY one but still an expansion...

I'm trying to think of a board game port on Steam that got any of the physical expansions added. I feel like all we ever get is the base.

They already announced the first expansion (Rise of Ix), it is supposed to be released in summer.

In my experience it is the opposite. Almost every successful board game adaptation I have on Steam has expansions -- Wingspan, Dominion, Root, Spirit Island, Race for the Galaxy, Carcassonne, etc all have expansions. Sometimes they take an annoyingly long time to come out though.

This game is perfectly fine, if you're not interested then move along.

Uprising isn't "vastly superior", it's different, as Brass Birmingham is different from Brass Lancashire.
But I guess we'll have a lot of guys pretending that until enough dust will go down

Anything is vastly superior to this barebone, barren, lackluster, content void, repetetive, boring, crazy confusing, over complex mess.
