I'll just keep playing Arnak on BGA.... it's the better game anyway =P
Maybe not worth the 20 something euros if you're buying it JUST for that, but I'm fine with the money I spent on this, especially with the online matchmaking.
Plus I wouldn't say Uprising is the better game anyway, they focus on different aspects of the game and the Uprising leaders are too simple for my taste.
Now the main game is Uprising so the original version is somewhat obsolete. Thus, no problem with making a digital version of it.
Of course, i don't believe for a second that we will see a digital version of Uprising. (yet, at least, maybe if they release again a new version)
So, maybe we see all that as expansion packs here.
The 6 players mode of Uprising (3vs3) is cool.
I look forward to the next addition for sure because this is a proof of concept. Rise of Ix (when I added the expansion) made this great game even better. That expansion created a higher form of the game, which is AMAZING. I'd even say that Rise of Ix is the most incredible game I've ever played, which also has a strong chance to be a competitive professional game that'd be perfect in real tournaments. It's just that good. Uprising has yet to reach that level.
So I'm happy to take part in this endeavor because this is, without a doubt, a version of the game that veritably holds my attention for 62 hours. I really needed a schooling on the base cards, and this is the best way to do it, bar none. Most of the TTS Dune Community still play with these base cards, along with Rise of Ix and Immortality expansions. But you can't play the Base Game with anyone there because they use the expansions, always. You also can't play the game by yourself faster than this digital version. It's a great way to refresh your knowledge, and it's so fast.
I really enjoy Dune Imperium. This is a great game and if you love that game, this creation is a tribute to that love. It's nice to see something you thoroughly enjoy get whistles and bells.
Or I could spend roughly $20 for a digital version of that same game, with access to various opponents at my finger tips. And bonus content like Challenges and Community Skirmishes for additional entertainment.
If you don't think the digital version is worthwhile, then don't buy it. But saying it's obsolete just because there's updated physical content for the relevant owners is incredibly silly.
And like any other digital adaptation, I'm sure we'll see more content (including the release of relevant expansions) given enough time.
I finally had a chance to play Uprising. To call it "a different game" is a stretch. Its the same game, with some mods that could have easily been an expansion. Some of the changes are great, some I think are bad.
I'll say that I hope you guys are right and I'm being pessimistic. I really hope the developers of the game don't make Uprising a separate game. The second I see Uprising as DLC, I'll buy this game in a heartbeat, cause yes, I would very much like to play this game online. It would be even better if they let you tailor the DLC and various changes they made to the base game into ones ideal configuration.
Welp, I guess time will tell!
