From what I remember though the pronunciation was literally just "joe-se" or "joe-say". This could just be a dubbing mistake, but I doubt it considering the english VA for P5 is on point everywhere else. Either way, this implies it's not the Spanish descent of the name and something else I don't recognise.
Japanese's language is syllabic, instead of alphabetic. It'd be pronounced joe-say.

Finally someone with some common sense. Never saw so many racists and trolls in a thread.
The point is, putting Someone called Jose immediatedly makes me think they would use an opportunity to put someone not white in the game, yet they ***ed it up.
They could just put another japanese name. There, solved.
as for Japan itself the population is completely aging so at some point they WILL need foreigners to work. Foreigners who will NOT be white...
This is neither an issue or a problem.
It’s just people looking for problems to be upset about because they have good lives otherwise.
But mister op. There's a black guy in Shibuya. Not to mention that black woman in the background near the person holding up a mic you can see in several areas. Don't forget about the people during the Hawaiian trip too. Sorry op, but case closed.
I would give names that match characters properly. So no Gustaf for argentinians or Mário for americans.
easiest way to fix this s***. Just call him, dunno, Goku? Or Itadori?
if the game's fun it's fun.
Wait until you realise William, Edison, Washington, Mary, Nelly, Wilson or Michelle are common names in the region.
