Persona 5 Royal

Persona 5 Royal

A lil warning for New Players
I skipped over persona, due to me simply avoiding things that appear to be riding a hype train at the time I discover them. Giving stuff a bit of a cool off period, helps me get a better view in my mind. So I just got it on sale just recently and while some people might find this common sense these days, I admittedly didn't. So i'll say it just in case. Seems there's a bit of a price to be paid for getting into a game that's so popular and been out so long.

If you need a lil help, when you go to the general gaming web sites you will have to deal with a few of them being wrong on some of the confidant material. Just double check what you read vs. another site if you want to be sure. BUT, for the love of Mr Spock, Mary Jane, and the pope, don't go to SpoilerTube. I've been trying to sit back and just enjoy the story, not pick it apart like its a detective mystery I'm supposed to try and guess before the end. Yet twice some youtuber, trying to be cute just to get a few extra likes or something, dropped spoilers with no warning. I absolutely LOVE JRPG's and RPG's like this and while maybe I just got unlucky with those top rated youtube searches at the time, I really really advise checking the gaming web sites over youtube. Spoilers are the suck. I've really enjoyed the story up until the point I'm at.

I hate it when youtubers do that. It's like "when Vegeta turns Majin and betrays you, teleport him to the desert and make sure to hit him with Super Saiyan 2 but NOT Super Saiyan 3" and I'm like "bro my guy just beat Piccolo what the ♥♥♥♥ is a Saiyan?!"

As for the inconsistencies, make sure you're looking for information about Persona 5 Royal and not just Persona 5, simce the P5R version changes some things. Also, when using the fusion calculator, make sure to enable the DLC personas in the calculator settings, since having them unlocked in-game changes almost every fusion recipe.

And I hate it even more when said youtubers make spoilery titles and thumbnails on purpose. Not that long ago I got spoiled on a pretty big plot twist for another game just because the infamous YT algorithm decided to drop such video in my recommendations. It wasn't even an old game, it was the one that came out like a month ago at that time.

The world is full of blatant asshats, what can I say.

That's good advice for any media you're into really. Don't watch any Youtube videos related to the subject until you're finished, otherwise you'll get videos with spoilers in the thumbnail and/or title clogging up your recommendations.

The only guide you really need is a cheat sheet for confidant answers. Here's the one I used, it's completely spoiler free (only says what line numbers you should pick). Just print it out and you're done, don't worry too much about the other things.

That's useful, but your statement about not worrying about the other things is bad advice. Without more information you can easily still completely miss out on the third semester. Being uninformed about social stat and other confidant requirements can really muck things up too.

Just check the like to dislike ratio!

Oh wait you need to hack the web page to do so... (If that's even possible now, being the dislike only hidden but still on the page code)

Another huge win for... big corps!

I got a few minor spoilers myself but nothing big, this is one of those game you definitely don't want to get spoiled.

My biggest tip, both for this game and any other persona game, is to not bother looking stuff up your first playthrough. A new player is not going to get 100% completion without spoiling themselves on everything from confidant progression to story events that need to be planned around. One-run 100% is a challenge for newgame+ or experienced players that are past caring about spoilers or lore, it's unreasonable to expect a new player to see everything. In fact the Persona games are designed specifically to make you feel a time-crunch of sorts, flooding you with lots of things you could do but hardly giving you any time to actually do them without careful planning and foresight.

P5R holds your hand a lot compared to previous games, tutorials and advice coming out of the woodwork to the point where it's almost annoying. Outside of shooting for max completion on your first run, I honestly don't know where you might end up stuck that isn't solved by going back and grinding against regular enemies some more. Regardless, you're better off posting a question here or looking up the wiki than resorting to Youtube, most Persona-baised content I've seen is nothing more than showing off against endgame bosses with little explanation for any of the game's meager puzzles or level design.

unless it's super poplar that even the default youtube front page would feature it, you can avoid most spoilers by resetting the youtube algorithm by deleting the cookies in your browser settings. from then on you just have to avoid searching or clicking on stuff related to the things you want to avoid being spoiled.

unlock special bond reading as soon as possible and i never open again any confidant answer, it's really godsend feature, i even do celestial reading on rank 9 - 10 to see which option give most points.

Also Youtube is my last option, if i have visited multiple websites but i can't find what i am looking for then i have no choice but to look youtube that has no commentary, i am ok with duckduckgo search engine, and yes before celestial reading is not unlock then i have my answer guide website, actually it's ok choose wrong answer by purpose when advance a confidant because next hang out but don't rank up that confidant will grant joker a free room decor as long as it's not rainy day
