Like yeah there's more than 2 switches, it is a legitimate puzzle, but there's still only 4 of them and the changes are on instantly reflected on the map.
I can see the OP play and complete Wild Arms easily.... the millenium puzzles that serve as extra content wouldn't just have the OP up in ARMS (pun intended) but I suspect 80% of all the people who make threads like these.... "OMGURD these puzzles be so hard; cannot be completed without a guide; hardquit game, bad game is bad" yada yada
I totally opened up notepad during the bank to write things down. I'd say the bank is the only place I had to actually write things down. Regardless, I understood how to solve everything easily. It was just tedious.
Honestly 30 minutes is fine. The problem is the very concept - real time in a turn-based game is never a good idea - all it does is stress the player out. If this was an ATB game or something I could see the point, but turns are an abstraction of the passage of time by concept.
Also, considering the MASSIVE amount of dialogue in that fight, it just incentivizes the player to skip voice acted lines. When you factor in how little focus Haru gets, making her boss the one where you have the game screaming at you to skip the cutscenes is not a good call.
I'd say massive amount of dialogue is also a bit of exageration but I do agree that putting a timelimit on a battle that has dialogue is a bad idea because it provokes the player to skip it in favour of saving time and ATB wouldn't help in that fact... I would say it actually makes it worse because now there's 2 bars counting down... the one which spells your demise and the one you wait for to do the next attack... possibly a heal spell that saves you from a wipe...
