$40 overpriced?

Yeah it's overpriced. They're only pulling the price up because of Darkstalkers. Haven't been around in years.

If this was a remaster of the PS1 version of Darkstalkers 3, I'd say it's worth it. But instead the only version of the game where every single character is playable is still PS1 exclusive.

Vampire Chronicle on Dreamcast is the more definitive version, is it not?

Vampire: Darkstalkers Collection for the PS2 is the definitive one.
Was released 17 years ago, only in Japan.
I suppose Capcom is looking for a future port to the new platforms, maybe 10 years for now.

I would say it's okay for $40 but i wish it was $29. I keeping seeing some say regional price isn't that great so maybe fix that but besides that it's all cool to me.

yes is overprice because capcom didn add anything new to their games for psx era.
no new stages, no new characters, no new game modes i would pay for them 15 dollars without any problem but 40 is overprice.

For sure. And YES they did add stuff to the games. Online play with rollback netcode and training modes.

Capcom financial results are confortable enough. This compilation won't change anything for them.

this is priced fine coming out the gate imo it will have sale price as early as holloween .
the thing i believe is they are throwing this out there to gage interest and hopefully enough interest is shown that will cause them to make a new darkstalkers game which i feel is overdue. i have the saturn games i even have the japanesse box set for ps2 street fighter 2 hyper the anniversary value pack which also includes vampire darkstalkers collection. but i would rather that set stay played as little as possible cause is worth +200 atm.

also i see fightcade mentioned alot but that is not a given that it will even stay around. i would much rather just buy this set and own them. back to last comment i am really hoping this leads to an updated darkstalkers with updated look and tighter gameplay and new balancing. just my hope is all :)
