We have a couple of exciting new systems for you to play and test this weekend!

Emotes:
That's right, now you can greet, taunt, celebrate, and dance the night away while trying to avoid enemy hunter fire! Simply hold down the 'T' key to access your emotes in-game.

Earn Rewards While You Play:
We have implemented the base for our Bounty Pass system. Playing the game will earn you exp which will level up your pass As you level your pass you will earn rewards including new emotes and cool cosmetics for your character.

Max out your pass over the next two Alpha events and you will earn the awesome new Origin Prime series "Genesis" heavy armor skin!

But that's not all. With the introduction and testing of the new rewards system comes a special early delivery of an already earned reward. That's right! Everyone who earned the "Meek: Hunter Armor" skin during our Alpha Launch Event has been granted access to it ahead of schedule! Those of you who will have this will be able to use it starting at the launch of this weekend's event, Friday evening at 5:00 PM Pacific!

Please Note: This is just the first pass of this system and more design and features will be added to it as we progress. Your feedback is highly appreciated.

Fixed a bug that prevented the "Looking for Match" UI from properly updating if the match making ticket timed out without finding a match.

Quick hotfix to address some issues in the latest build.

Changes

• match pot adjusted to scale with number of people in the match for better balance with very small or large matches

Bug Fixes

• Bug fixed that prevented armor repair stations from properly healing
  
• Clicking the Play button on the main menu will force an immediate server status check to avoid incorrectly disabled Find Match button
  
• Issue where setting fullscreen mode would sometimes result in odd resolution scaling should be fixed
  
• Air Brake douns effect volume has been lowered
  
• Brightness adjusted in Aufeis arena
  
• Lighting fixes in Connors Dam arena
  
• Minor fixes to issues in the arena lobby areas

Here shortly, the servers will open up and the mayhem may commence! This month's Alpha Weekend event will run from 9:00 am PDT this morning, until midnight on Sunday the 17th.

What new tidings does our 2nd Alpha event bring you say? We are glad you asked!

The team has been busy and to start it off we are excited to announce that Insula has been upgraded to an all-new version of the Unreal Engine! This weekend you will get to experience the arenas of Insula in a brand new light... literally. With new lighting, sky, and atmosphere systems Insula comes to life with vividness and clarity like never before!

We have not one, but two, brand new arenas open and ready to be christened by you and yours. Brave the towering peaks and winding crevices of Aunavern, and dare to face the dark expanse of The Belt!

This weekend's event also brings a revamped bounty system to bear. Instead of duking it out and then waiting around to see if you out-performed your fellow hunters enough to earn one of the coveted bonus awards, the powers that be, have decided to increase the take, and up the stakes!

In addition to the bounties on each contestant's head, each match will now begin with a hefty 2500 bounty pot up for grabs! This pot will go to the last bot standing when all is said and done, but there is a catch! The pot will get smaller and smaller with each passing second. Time is not your friend if you are looking for that big payout. Furthermore, a nice little survival bonus has been added that will reward you for staying alive as long as you can. This is nice considering that everyone will be trying to take you out as fast as possible to get that big pot before it dwindles to nothing!

We will also be adding tiered personal achievements that you can earn during the match by accomplishing various goals as the next stage of this system. Combined, these are taking the place of the previous bonus awards that could be earned and were awarded at the end of the match. This will allow you to know instantly what your total earnings are and let you get back into action that much sooner!

The first iteration of controller support is live with this weekend's event. We definitely still have some work to do fully integrating it into the UI, but it should be pretty workable throughout for the most part. Please be sure to submit your feedback and suggestions so that we can continue to improve on it and ensure that the end result feels like a truly integrated part of the game and not some weak tacked-on accessory!

Also, now that the base controller support is in, keybinding (both kb/m and controller) has been enabled. You can rebind your controls in the options from both the main menu and the in-game menu.

Online / Offline status of the servers can now be seen from the main menu.

In closing, we want to thank everyone for all the wonderful feedback we received during the initial Alpha launch event and for helping us to continue to make Insula, the best it can be. We are excited to get to share this weekend event with everyone and look forward to seeing you in the arena!

Insula: Bounty Royale Playtest Alpha build updated to v1.0.10. Make sure to update as you will need it to connect to online matches!

Bug Fixes:

• Railgun: bug where exiting fast flight by aiming did not initiate weapon charge should be fixed
  
• Loot Chests: bug that prevented sniper rifles and rocket launchers from spawning should be fixed
  
• Rocket launcher should better register splash damage now

Arena Changes:
Lave Room in Reclamation map has had a collision fix that prevented weapon fire from entering (or even crossing over) the lava pool. You are no longer safe from weapon fire in the lava! You have been warned!


QoL Changes:

• Weapons will now be automatically picked up if the slot they go in is empty

As a reminder auto-loot pickup rules are now as follows:

• If you find a weapon that goes in a slot you currently have empty, it will automatically be picked up
  
• If you find a weapon that is of the same type as one you already have but is of better quality, it will automatically be swapped out

Note: You will NOT automatically pick up a weapon for a slot you already have filled if it is of a different type of weapon than what you currently have.


Examples:

• If you do not have a special weapon and open a chest with a sniper rifle, it will automatically pick up the sniper rifle
  
• If you already have a green assault rifle and you find a blue assault rifle, it will automatically drop the green and pick up the blue
  
• If you already have a sniper rifle and you find a rail gun (both considered special weapons) it will NOT drop the sniper rifle and pick up the railgun, you will have to manually push the interact key (F) while targeting the railgun, to have it swapped out

Balance Update and Railgun overhaul

Changes:

• Assualt Rifle: rounds per second and damage per round have been slightly reduced to bring it more in line with other weapons
  
• Shotgun: rounds per clip increased so that tiers 1 and 2 (white and green) hold 4 rounds per clip, tiers 3 and 4 (blue and purple) hold 6 per clip, and tier 5 (gold) holds 8 per clip
  
• Railgun: Damages adjusted so that only tiers 4 and 5 (purple and gold) are capable of 1-shot kills, tier 4 (purple will deal between 80 and 100 damage, while tier 5 (gold) will deal 90-110
  
• Railgun: The railgun charge system has been revamped and simplified. The revamp should fix the issue where the railgun sometimes did not properly deal its full charge level worth of damage. The simplification removes the need to hold aim and fire down at the same time to charge the railgun's shot power. To fire the railgun at any time, charged or not, simply fire like any other weapon (left mouse button). To charge the railgun, simply start aiming with it (right mouse button)
  
• Pistol: Common pistols will no longer spawn in chests (since you start the game with one) - the chance for higher tiers of pistols to spawn has been increased
  
• Fixed a bug where loot chests could end up spawning only consumables and no weapons (all loot chests will now be guaranteed to spawn at least 1 weapon)
  
• Flight speed deceleration has been increased slightly, allowing faster stopping and more control coming out of flight and into hover

Insula: Bounty Royale Playtest Alpha build updated to v1.0.08. Make sure to update as you will need it to connect to online matches!

Changes:

• The proper flight trails have been put back in so you can actually see your character when flying again! :D

Insula: Bounty Royale Playtest Alpha build updated to v1.0.07. Make sure to update as you will need it to connect to online matches!

This patch will hopefully improve the experience with the faster firing weapons, hit markers, and server registration of hit shots. If there are still issues with this after this patch, it will have to be put through deeper inspection in the internal dev builds and will hopefully be resolved in time for the next Alpha Weekend.

Changes:

• Calls to show hit markers have been moved completely server-side, this may occasionally result in a few milliseconds delay if the connection is less than ideal, but it should no longer be out of sync with server registered hits
  
• Hit detection on the server improved in an attempt to fix the issue with not registering hits in certain cases while in hover mode
  
• Environment collision and fall damage will no longer kill you, it will leave you at ONE health if the damage would have killed you. (This is a temporary fix for the remainder of the opening Alpha Week Playtest to avoid the issue where players are slamming into stuff to deny opponents credit for the kill. This will return to being fatal once we have worked out a properly balanced penalty for environment death to discourage it without being unfair to true accidental environment deaths)
  
• Multiple arena fixes based on tester feedback and bug reports
