In Connelly Creek Branch track L3 has a capacity for 7 cars. (Log bunks are shorter than 50 feet.)
I wonder if I can take the engine the 7 bunk cars are with straight up the mountain past the spur and just back down all 7 burying the engine to load the logs? So there will be 8 objects on the track itself instead of 7.
Will that work?
Next question related to maps...
In whitter theres a red track behind the coal and water where the coal hopper would go is that color red the legend for that type of track the rest of the mapped area?
I see the map possesses a signal system....
Should I go ahead and purchase the signalling system for the railroad to allow the AI Bots to drive the engines around each other to and from various places? Or are the signals just eye candy? For human dispatching etc.
The signal system is best used by the player by using it in manual mode, switch to the CTC panel by pressing the 3 key. It also has an automatic mode but it can cause some issues since meets still need to be planned by the player.
Next item on the map question.
Pulpwood is easily understood on the Connelly Branch but not easily understood where to take them on these maps. I suppose thats for me to discover within the operations schedule when I dispatch a train to get it and deliver it. I opened up Slvya branch today and have a lot of discovering to do.
There are two industries in Sylva that take pulpwood, Parson's Tannery and Sylva Paperboard, both are at the far end of the line near the interchange. There's a pretty significant grade approaching the tunnel as you head toward Sylva, so you'll need a loco with decent power to pull the pulpwood train.
This link is no longer working. Can I get a new one?

This map has not been updated for the new wye at Sylva.
You'd have to take that up with the map maker, since it is an unofficial map.
Oh no worries! I was just stating for those that may use the map is all :) I just started to notice the issue as I played through today is all
Oh ok! Thanks for that! :D
I use that map frequently to know how many cars can fit into sidings.

Just curious: Do you see a steam warning or any other kinda warning before it opens?
