Nope just a straight action FPS.

Just read the store page description. You can upgrade old Murph and you get access to 20 other weapons on top of your trusty mainstay gun. Supposedly there's some leeway on how you approach mission objectives and you uphold the prime directives but your guess is as good as mine as how much that's going to impact the game flow.

It is a FPS/RPG hybrid. You have sections that play out like a traditional FPS, but you also have investigations and dialogue trees like a Fallout/Starfield style game. There are upgrades to unlock, but every genre has that now. Try the demo.

I personally think a good way of thinking about it is that it's more like VTM Bloodlines than Deus Ex. It has the outward appearance of being like a Deus Ex game but it doesn't have the same freedom and flexibility of goal completion.

It's definitely influenced by later games like Mankind Divided in how the world is split into walk and talk sections and combat sections. That was an explicit split in MD that wasn't in the older DE games. But in this case, the overall vibes and the way quests work feels more VTMB-like to me.
