Regarding RoboCop's Prime Directives...

Weren't they completely erased from his brain in RoboCop 2 (including Directive 4)? Or is Murphy in this game pretending to have his Prime Directives intact so they don't mess with his brain again?

Yeah but remember that he deleted all of those junk directives by electrocuting himself, and it also erased his Prime Directives (which is a plot point in RoboCop 2). In the demo, Murphy is asked about his Prime Directives and he recites them by heart.

Yeah he's not supposed to have them anymore but since most casual fans would gloss over that and it sounds 'cool' to have him say it... imo it's an iconic part of the mythos so they keep it in there continuity be dammed.

Honestly once you think about it its pretty crappy for a living being to be an outright slave to this kind of directives I mean one thing is having prime directives for a robot... another a supposed man... then again robot does come from the slavic word for slave.

Tho, OCP might put it back in during maintenance mode in this game.

I think it is safe to say OCP simply put the directives back in. The directives were there in RoboCop 3, and this game does take place between 2 & 3 IIRC.

In Robocop 3, he has the original prime directives back, plus a directive 4 (never oppose to an OCP officer).

It's pretty logical to think that, after deleting the junk of woke directives in R2, OCP put back the original program into Murphy 's brain.

keep in mind he was damaged after fighting with Kane so good chance they gave him a once over and reset his software so that's why he has the rules put back into him, also keep in mind this game takes place after the second movie and will not have anything related to the third movie or the tv series.

That alone gave me hope for the game and the devs actually giving a crap about the IP lol. Ignoring Robocop 3. As far as I'm concerned this is Robocop 3. Lord knows it can't be worse than the movie we got lol.
