Overblown hate

After playing about 5 hours I do not understand the hate that this game gets. It seems completely disproportionate to amount of hate that "bad" games usually get. Personally I enjoy every aspect of this game so far, sans that character models.

The game runs very well on my PC. This is an AMD sponsored title, so this may be a reason as I have an AMD card. Even during the big boss fight with a billion things happening on screen, the game doesn't dip below 60 fps with 4K FSR 2.0 and mixed settings.

The story doesn't blow me away, but I can't remember the last action game I played that had a story that did. The story is just good enough for me to understand the character and the world of Athia at a basic level. The game wasn't even advertised as having this groundbreaking story to being with, as most adverts focused on the combat. The dialog is another thing that people hate, but I really enjoy. I feel like it fits the character and the setting she's in. I have my dialog option set the maximum amount of chatter between Frey and Cuff just so it won't feel like another solo adventure game.

The combat would be perfect if the lock on feature was better. Often Frey would just stop locking to an enemy after they do an attack or after parkouring, and it was very annoying to try and find where the enemy is just to lock on again. Aside from that, the magic system, parkouring mechanic, and attack animations are very creative and fun to engage with imo.

As far as the whole wokeness thing goes, I dont see how the game is woke, unless having a female lead with a female hierarchy in Athia means woke. I typically hate woke ♥♥♥♥ in media but this game doesn't go out of its way to shove any political messaging or social justice stuff down your throat. So the game is fine in that regard, to me.

I understand that not everything is for everyone, but I don't understand why the gaming community decided in near unison, that they would ♥♥♥♥ on this game. Especially when the game, mechanically speaking isn't broken. Its just personal preferences over story and gameplay.

The hate is way overblown. Not a great game, but there is fun to be had with it.

Like what? The only games I know of with $1000 worth of DLC is flight sim games and those are niche.

It's fine but expensive. A lot of people got themselves radicalised by YouTube hate grifters.

There's a demo and refund option. No one's getting tricked. Save the hate campaigns for 'live services'.

So you admit that in general you like the game, but it is still flawed. Fortunately, you aren't affected by any performance issues.

Now consider the fact that the game is generally short and it came with a bloated price tag.

I wouldn't say that's hate. It's just ... mixed. Once it gets some patches and goes on sale it's probably worth another look for some.

Because this game is trash. Plain and simple. Wait till LGBTWASANDAKSJFKNFJ+ with million genders will hate on Hogwart's legacy. And somehow their cringe posts wont be "overblown hate" because thats how lefties behave.
