Half a decade or more.

lies, many AAA games still had 8 gb at least (dying light 2- early 2022) , some 12 (Elden ring- also last year). plus instead of the game being a blurry mess at low graphics, they could just make low poly models and stuff. I don't get why AAA games stopped with the low poly models for low graphics. It severely limits the potential buyers

So you asked a question just to answer it yourself. Nice one.

Buy a console then, fixed, like 8go ram is expensive..
DreamCore.SwE Jan 24, 2023 @ 9:18pm
It should be pretty darn obvious. Most games up to this point has been cross-gen and thus had support running on last gen consoles like PS4 and Xbox One. This game is next-gen only and PS5 and Xbox Series X have 16Gb RAM which is what this game is built for. Nothing strange about it. Most games will probably require 16Gb eventually and even 32Gb on highest settings.

Upgrading RAM isn't expensive. An additional 8 gig stick is around 20 dollars

There are a lot of good Youtube videos showing you step by step. Just make sure you buy the same ram that you already have.

I started using 16gb of memory on my PC in 2015.
HiImTony Jan 24, 2023 @ 9:23pm
Eh.. I wouldn't say its been the NORM but.. ram is cheap, stupidly cheap. if you can pay for a game, you can pay for ram. its a little extra obviously, but right now you can get 32GB (3200mhz) for $104.99 CDN.... so, $78.60 US.

The new consoles have 16GB of RAM, so you can expect that to be the target for multiplatform games that are not also on the old consoles.

So it's not about poor gamers anymore?
If you can plug your PC's power cord into an outlet, you can plug in ram stick.

excuse me sherlock, notice how in the first quote i was talking about more than just ram:blassaint::blassaint::blassaint::blassaint::blassaint:
like making games that are 150+ gb but are online only, are $70, require a $2000 PC to run well. and when now u just need like 10 games to fill up 1 tb of storage.
