I don't think settings are the problem. Game runs fine but out of nowhere it randomly crash with that error.

try reinstalling direct X 12 again? This may fix it, or verify files integrity on steam by right clicking a game.

They do matter, the error you're getting is due to an unstable GPU (overclock/ undervolt/ old drivers) or overall system reliability when the GPU runs at power/thermal limits.

Yeah you're right. I thought my brand new 4070Ti could handle this game fully maxed at 1440p plus DLSS. Drivers are updated so that wasn't the problem.
I think that it runs out of VRAM. I changed texture detail from Very High to High and it seems to run fine now, hope it doesn't crash anymore.

did that fix it for you? is it a vram issue or a ram issue? I have the 4070 ti at 1440p but only 16 gigs of ram

I have 32GB of RAM so I think it's a VRAM issue when everything is maxed.
The VRAM in the game video setting was basically capped with very little free memory left. Seem to be fixed last night when I played for half an hour, will update you if it happens again today.

From the Dev post:

"Note: Forspoken uses a streaming texture technique to load textures, this technique utilizes free spaces of VRAM.
VRAM is also consumed by other elements such as model data and effects. The amount of VRAM usage depends on the graphics option chosen.

In the preset “High” other elements of game assets consume higher VRAM than in the “Standard” preset. With 8GB VRAM, the GPU has less headroom for texture streaming which might result in a noticeable downgrade of texture quality in certain parts of the game.
We recommend having 12GB or more VRAM available when using the preset “High”, in order to experience the game with high quality visuals."

Yeah, after playing like to hours now I also have this at any start of the game? Is there a solution yet?

I turned OFF Variable Rate Shading VRS, Dynamic Resolution and set Texture Memory to High instead of Ultra-High. Not a single crash since then, one of those setting must have fixed it.

DirectX 12 is part of the system. Likely it's either a driver issue or a hardware malfunction.
