Yep, I agree.
However, I can't run it on my 3080 at 1080 with everything set to low and framerate set to 30fps.
That would be a bummer, I wonder what is so different that’s causing varying results, I watched one guy on 4090 playing early and he was struggling to keep 90 fps, so I figured ok that’s not bad in golf game but when I ran it on mine I had to cap frames for gsync at 117 and it doesn’t move much off it…a small dip here and there.
Have you tried ddu to uninstall all reminance of old GeForce drivers and installing the newest driver fresh? Also if you have GeForce experience I’d not let it dynamically set the game settings if you are maybe disabling that will give better results? Also turning off vsync in game and turning off dynamic resolution or the advanced hair option as that’s pretty taxing too.
Try making a profile for golf on your in Nvidia settings
1. Nvidia Control panel/Manage 3D Settings
2 .Choose Program Settings Tab find EA Sports PGA Tour golf .exe to add and add it.
3 .Set settings to default to undo all your "Optimizations"
4. Set Max frame rate to = your specific monitors refresh rate. (Sometimes I set lower to my monitor refresh rate because mine is 240hz and that runs hot on some games. at 2k resolution)
5. If you want more power set power management to Performance
6. V-sync off
In game set frame rate to unlimited, not 30 or 60 because you already addressed this in your NVIDIA control panel. Vsync off and I turn motion blur off. The rest I leave alone as loaded default.
But with amazing gameplay; graphics; story; without potato looking people from the Sims 3 as your spectators. No golf game should ever lag, freeze, or stutter.......it's a golf game; not the next generation "Crysis"
I really think this is a part of it for a lot of people. A lot of the posts I've seen complaining of low frame rates are trying at 4k resolution, and that's asking a lot.
I have a 2080 Super and run it at 2560x1080, frame rate capped at 60. I had to turn down a few settings from Ultra to get it to hold 60 consistently, mainly because I don't like hearing my GPU fans screaming. Turning off dynamic grass, HDR, and bloom and reducing shadow quality were the biggest improvements while keeping visual quality. Frame rates do occasionally drop in the 55-58 range before getting back to 60, but it doesn't affect my play.
Before I turned down some of the settings it would not hold 45-50 steady, which I think could be better, but it's golf and not racing so I don't mind.

100+ FPS
Ive seen "but its a golf game" said since TW2004.... ive always said yes, but whats in a golf game, the environment...do you think all of those 3d trees, plants, and grass are less taxing than fps games theres way more of them in a golf game to make it feel as immersive as possible. I dont see the lag stuttering and freezing...more times than not those things are caused by users running settings their system cannot handle...and they are unable to accept that they need to turn some things down or run a lower res. Games advance graphically by pushing hardware and utilizing the newest hardware, if they did not we would still have games looking like links 2000.
Trust me im not trying to be mean or looking down on anyone with lesser hardware, i dont always have the latest and greatest, and when i dont if i have issues like lag, freeze, stutter, crash i lower my settings and or res until i get rid of those things. A 3080 10gb card is a no go for 4k max settings, and a 3080 12gb is riding the limit using anywhere from 90-100+ % of their vram, thats pretty much a no go for smooth frames, a 4070 is a no go because of vram....again not belittling anyone but people who buy the correct cards to push their resolutions should not have to settle for lesser graphics because someone didnt take into account hardware limitations for their resolution.
- Sometimes i get a bit of stuttering at the flybys at the start of a hole, but the gameplay itself is smooth.
- Once the game crashed when alt-tabbing out of it.
- My monitor can do 75 Hz, and mostly i get the 75fps, rarely it dipped down into the 40s or even 30s, but recovered after a few seconds.
Other than that it is running ok
