(FIXED) Can any of you smoothly run this game on a PC?
(Update got a fix visual for good gameplay) I got a 3050ti and got this running on potato visuals; still stutters and freezes.

same on my rx6600 you need a high end card because it's a port that isn't optimized

I smoothly run my games mostly after in the a game. Some shots do a game freeze for a moment just as I would complete the drive. Not often though.

3080ti

I mean this is 2023; RDR 2 on ultra runs smooth with multiple mods. What gives? Seriously!

Thats a what 5 year old game. You have 8gb of vram...you will not be running newer games on ultra with that card...at 4k max settings this game uses 12+ gb of vram reported by my 4090...go over what your card has and you will stutter/freeze/crash all day long.

have you disabled the framerate locker? Once I set mine to Unlimited, it plays like a PC game again.

You shouldnt need a 4090 to run this game smoothly... period. All your doing is throwing horsepower at an unoptimized game. rtx 3080 ti rtx 3090 rtx 3090 ti cant run this game smoothly @ 4k and the vram usage isnt 12GB.. it barely hits 9500MB on a 3090 and 3090 ti with 24GB of Vram.. I hope they take the time and optimized it.. It really is a good game.

Yup have no Problems.

Running a 3080 and 32GB RAM... so many issues.

I have 5 hours playtime on this game but 4 of those hours have been spent trying to get the game to work.

I have had the following issues:

- Game does not load
- Game loads but colours are not correct and are mainly pink and blue
- Game loads but freezes
- Game loads and I can start playing, but it crashes to the desktop
- The game stutters and freezes
- The game will not even maintain 30fps, even on the lowest settings
- The challenges do not work

Dropped everything to pocket calculator settings but no improvement.

turn off 3d grass in settings, the pop in is awful with it on anyway, it actually looks better without it and u get FPS boost.

You don’t own those cards then, cause at 4K max it hits and exceeds 12 gb vram usage (I’ve seen over 12gb used on a few courses) and I’ll post a screen later with Rtss hud showing so…you can run it fine without a 4090 as long as you have the vram for your settings at max 4K you’ll need a 16gb vram card….of course 3080 will struggle cause 12gb and 10gb but I’m all for graphic advancement, turn settings down till it runs right or buy a console. Once people understand 16gb vram should be the minimum now the better, all the new games are going above 3080 vram capacity.

VRAM Reserved and VRAM In Use are two different things altogether. Your monitoring app of choice only shows VRAM Reserved + In Use. So no, the game is not using 12GB+ of VRAM, it's only reserving that much.

Everyone always has something…when you have it set to vram in use in rtss and it dynamically changes from 11 to 12+ then yes it’s absolutely using that much. When you having people maxing it out then it’s stuttering then crashes your absolutely hitting your vram limit!

It's kinda crazy that you're having such a great experience with a lower specced rig, and yet people with 30xx and 40xx cards are struggling to run it?

Really glad it's working for you though.

After a back and forth with Steam, they refunded me despite having 5 hours of play on the clock. Had to send a few screenshots and they gave in.

Think I'll go for the PS5 version instead.
