and then there are times when you are hitting into an upslope on the green and that will add more spin pretty much pulling you to the front or even off of the green.
it also depends on your club- 9 iron through wedges will spin more.
check your golfer set up too- i picked a medium loft swing type- use high loft swing type and you should get better results
Yes I don't want to apply it in flight, I want to set up to apply the spin I desire just like in REAL golf.
hitting lower on the ball does not really apply more spin. it makes the ball flight higher, which could add a little bit more, but it's negligible compared to the effect of wind and slope.
you cannot backspin long irons, even into the wind they will run out a tiny bit. mid irons will stop dead, short irons and wedges will spin back.
