For that reason I look for driver specs with max power over anything else. My 99 OVR guy can probably drive 290-300 without any specs, but that extra little 'umph' makes him hit 320-330 on average.
IMO control is more important for your short game. It's relatively easy to get on the green or close to it in this game. Pitch/chip shots and putting require a lot more points invested.
Or am I missing something. When you hit driving shots from tee it has no effect I would expect
The specs is mostly psychological but they do make some difference. The big ones are in the skill tree
There is a lot of different routes you can take. For me control is only important for driving and approach. Its only those shots I shotscape and need more spin to stop the ball
Its a relatively useless skill for short game where I have to much rather.
Recovery if you spend enough on accuracy you are seldom in the rough outside of around greens. And wedges rarely give huge penalties.
But just choose based on your play style what to focus on.
