I remember 2K's "career" mode which wasn't, that's why I'm asking since it's EA, they like pushing the online aspect nowadays.
And I don't see why I would need internet if I want to play single player only, but that's another issue.
Offline game modes:
CAREER MODE is an offline mode that will be playable at launch (but will require an online connection). You’ll hear more about that during our career mode deep dive in the coming weeks.
They also mention quick play and challenges, which seem like they are actually true offline modes, unlike Career...
Cool, as long as I can hop on a course and just play a round even if my Internet is down/flaking, that's good enough for me.
There is a growing sense of this across games, but until it truly impacts sales, greed will always come before any concerns for customer satisfaction.
