Man updates for the OS have really slowed down lately, along with verification which has essentially come to a standstill with almost more games released daily than they review.

Proton is an OS compatibility layer, not a cross instruction set converter or emulator. Running x86 code on ARM would be considerably more resource intensive than running Windows code in Linux. That being said, Deckard VR headset is rumored to be ARM based, so when that comes out Valve will need to consider some sort of compatibility mode or software. I think it’s a mistake, Steam has a huge library of x86 VR content, why make things more difficult for yourself Valve?
