Solution/workaround: put deck to sleep and turn it back on.
Desktop mode. Touchpads work until Steam starts. From there any input except touch screen no longer works. Clickin on steam icon wouldnt do anything, but after putting to sleep and back on, the pop up menu appears BUT clicking exit steam DOESNT work. Going to settings work but if exit is clicked, nothing is clickable then. I think steam crashed. Unable to shut down, restart, or return to gaming mode via any means. Freezes if deck is shut down both in desktop and gaming mode.
No solutions or workarounds found.
Additional: putting thumbs on trackpads as the virtual keyboard animation plays will shift its cursor. For ex, cursor is on Letter K, but the highlight is on Letter I.
Additional Feature Request: FULL trigger deadzone editting. even in steaminput there is still a huge deadzone on both triggers. Confirmed that this can be added by using a Konsole tweak found on github but the deadzone adjustments will reset after a few minutes.
I keep getting "disk write error" in the download page when I launch my games. The games run fine. I can download new games just fine. The games are up to date. I can see for a split second, that it's trying to download shader pre-chache. I have that setting turned off. Why is the game trying to download shader pre-chache when I have it off??? It never did that before.
There is no error if I enable that, but I don't need that garbage filling up my storage. I never needed shader pre-chache and I don't need it now. It was never a problem, must be the new update that is forcing shader pre-chache. Fix it ASAP. Every single update always brings some new problems. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?! PLEASE HIRE MORE COMPETENT DEVS!
donwload it anyways
No, sir. I'd rather have them fix the problem. I refuse to be a victim of their incompetence. Wasting my time and storage downloading shaders I don't need.
Update: I can confirm it's the new steam client update that's causing this problem. I reimaged my deck and with the fresh install, an older version of steam was included. Voila, no disk write error. Updated to latest version, I got disk write error. Here's the steam version with no problem 1700676668.
