Updates getting less substantial... does this mean we'll see this on Stable soon?

There's been so much good stuff added to SteamOS between 3.5.7 and 3.5.17... plz Gaben

That is for the Steam Client. This is for the operating system, SteamOS.

not a fan of seeing a preview in stable channel...
The patch notes you read on the steam deck itself when you get a update seems to be old, they are all dated feb 13 for me for some reason, ( currently in beta branch ) with yesterdays update.

There is no 3.6 on preview yet though, so you have to wait.

I think Valve is following a yearly release cycle. I believe Steam OS 3.6 will be release around mid to end November.

FYI if anyone starts getting all kinds of wonky errors about the UI not loading, it's because of Decky Loader, you have to fully remove it in Desktop to get back functional

gamescope broke with this update
on my oled it detect a 60hz maximum display and in general the frame limiter option does not work at all

Can confirm. Frame-Rate Limiter doesn't work anymore.
