This is the worst update by far. It bricked my steam deck. The deck somehow went to sleep after downloading the update & instead of restart to apply the update I had to manually re-wake it from sleep and saw it stuck @ 61% downloading with 1s to go. This didn’t look right.

So after many failed attempts to wait it or and trying to get it to update I had to manually power cycle.

Now my deck is stuck in ‘shutting down steam…’ screen! WTF…

My deck is now inoperable.

I read on a discord channel that CSS Loader is broken with 3.5, any chance you have that installed? Otherwise.. well it's a Preview Update, so you have to expect that. You still should be able to use the recovery image to reset your Steam Deck completely.

big update, it rebooted a few times and possibly a FW update? Give it time to install!

Sometimes things go wrong, it's impossible to do system development without impacting some users in very bad ways, especially when they can install whatever they want on the device.

Anyway. Steam Deck OLED? Just in time for Christmas! Cheers.

Yeah noticed this too, the updated fan control option was missing until another reboot, and it's not taking effect. Fans active at all times when in game mode even without a title loaded.

Yeah, me too I tried to reactivate the updated fan controls but after reboot the option is literally gone from the system menu.
I switched to beta just to see if the fans are noisy there, but no, it's all fine in 3.4, so its likely that they change something in this update.
Hoping for a quick fix because I can't even play a NES game without the fans going crazy.

I try to be as civilized as possible, but I really have no clue with this update. As the title says, added support for OLED, does it means the stable channel is unsupported for OLED at the moment? Is it means the OLED Decks are going to ship with a beta channel OS? Am I misunderstanding something? It would be nice if someone knowledgeable could enlighten me.

The saturation was horrible, the official adjustment doesn't work like it did in version 3.5.1, I tried to go back to using the vibrant deck, but it doesn't work anymore, I tried going back to BETA mode, it's still the same. Sad!
I ask you, is there a possibility of going back to 3.5.1? Or some saturation plugin like vibrant deck?

Yep saturation is broken on this update. I've gone back to the beta and using vibrant deck works, also fixed the constant fan in game mode I was experiencing.
Ah well, hope 3.5s major changes all come to stable/beta soon as the overall experience prior to today's update has been great.

Color vibrance is broken with this new update, vibrancy & color temp controls do nothing now so LCD steam decks go back to they old crap color presentation. Along with all other issues.

Recommend people don’t update to this!

Having noise issues too, also refresh rate slider now goes from 45 to 90 hz on my lcd deck, but anything above 71 does not work anyway, and I want 40hz back.

Fan spuraticly goes from 0 to seemingly 60% in 1min ON, 5 sec OFF intervals. Saturation isnt working with colours looking washed out.

Using Fantastic plugin shows a reading of -1337 RPM at all times (never used the plugin before, but that may be of use)

Color vibrance doesn’t work and fan kicking hard on lcd deck. Valve fix this plz
