For anyone unable to adjust brightness after this update, until a fix is pushed, you can go in desktop mode, click the battery in the taskbar to adjust it, and it will stay when you go back to gaming mode

Update broke brightness control 😬

Same here. Update broke brightness slider (stuck at 100% for me) and Auto-Brightness does not work.

Seeing people reporting this on r/SteamDeck as well

Re-releasing with a fix momentarily. Sorry about that!

Thank you guys for all that you have been doing!

EDIT: Downloaded re-release fix and brightness control is fixed but Auto-Brightness unfortunately still cannot be toggled on/off -- hopefully that fix is soon!

4k tv through USB c hub working much better! UI speed improvement noticed, but still sluggish with emu deck emulation station, but that's probably due to 16 systems and 400 some odd games. Looking forward to full choosing of resolution like desktop mode in game mode though, which I assume is in the works. Also noticed bringing up the ... menu working now with Xbox controller, didn't work for me before this update. For the work being done, so quickly, by passionate devs, I salute you. You're literally making gaming history.

Read the patch notes again.

Major scary crashes on Beta branch going from Desktop to Game Mode, showing stuff like verifying installation and stopping the boot logo halfway and restarting. Eventually it gets to Game Mode, but it shouldn't be doing that.

EDIT: I had the Deck install the stable branch and it still does it. Please look into a fix? It's making me nervous every time I go into Desktop mode now...

The brightness on my Deck is now stuck at maximum and the brightness sliders in both gaming mode and desktop mode no longer adjust the brightness! Please fix!

Doesn't work for me, desktop brightness controls are borked too.

Holy crap this resolution update is awesome! Literally my last complaint of the deck. Been using an OLED external monitor last couple of weeks on my lunch break to game, so will definitely be stress testing some games tomorrow! Thank you valve engineers!

Team, the previous update broke my ability to have any game recognize the internal screen and its ability to display at x800. For some strange reason no game display higher than x720. Please look into it.

Haha, a maximum resolution option now - you guys are reading my mind. This will do wonders for older, less graphically demanding games with no modern AA options! Would be great to have a few more 16:10 resolutions between 1280x720 and 2560x1600. Still, absolutely fantastic work with the constant updates, you guys rock.

Temporarily disabled adaptive brightness toggle, as it was causing performance and stability issues. Big thanks to the community for catching this weird bug - we're working on a fix for it now

What kind of perf/stability issues?
