Steam Deck

Steam Deck

Can't use HDMI & DisplayPort at the same time.
I'm using the official dock for the steam deck, and I have a 4K monitor I'm using with the HDMI output and a 1080p monitor which works with the DisplayPort output, but the two do not work together.

If I plug in both at the same time, the HDMI monitor seems to disappear from the display options, and both the deck's built-in screen and the Displayport monitor turn black. Unplugging the DisplayPort results in the HDMI image returning but being corrupted (right side of image falls apart into the component color channels) until I restart the deck.

To reiterate, either option works on its own, but when I try to use them together, screens turn black, and HDMI breaks.

I have the latest (stable, non-beta) updates installed on the deck.

happens in both modes. i have to do the pw reset while the dock is plugged in without power, then unplug the dock, then plug the dock back in, then plug the power into the dock.

pain in the as but it works every time.

Are you sure the steam deck can support a 4k HDMI TV and 1080 p monitor at the same time with one usb-c port?

steam deck only has one 10gb/s usb -c port
