I would've also suggested trying it out on a laptop or other dockable device to see if it gives the same issues there but you say you smashed it so...
Seriously, bummer you have a crap experience. I'm thinking about getting a dock so it's good to know others' experiences.
But seriously though, pic's or it didn't happen. :P
Its buggy as hell, sometime the usb ports dont work, sometime the monitor. you have to restart, reconnect most of the the to get it to work.
aside from that gaming mode is missing even the most basic options for docked mode.
why cant i change my keyboard layout? maybe mindblowing for steam dev, but not everyone in world is using an qwertz keyboard.
i honestly dont know whats wrong here, steam deck is selling well, company is doing good and this official device feels like a 5€ wish knockoff.
Connecting to monitors is actually quite complicated. You have so many political committees that makes your life miserable. Montiors vendors only testing a few GPU or devices and just release firmware with bugs. Most consumers just do not care about making the world sane. They look at HDMI and do not think too much about it.
Linux community do not get as much political help from these orgs. In fact, they are known to sabotage Linux.

64 GB deck is pretty harsh on the deck. The worse mistake Valve ever made.

Ive had 3 docks, 2 Jsaux and the official, both the Jsaux docks work perfectly
