Dock worked one time, then nothing. Nothing works.
So what? Almost a 100$ for something that doesn't work?
No news from Valve? I sent a ticket but didn't get any answer.
Hoping it can be updated/sorted soon or I will be contacting support.
Then I went back and all a sudden, worked? Did nothing, no update, nothing. But worked.
Then like a week later it stopped working again and hasn't worked since.
(And yes, Samsung tv as well.)
Guess just gotta wait for an update. /shrug. But pretty upset I paid $100 for this, honestly.
TV settings:
Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) = ON
Game Mode = OFF (this option doesnt seem to change anything. No noticeable input lag reduction. On or Auto works too.)
Input Signal Plus = ON
HDMI Black Level = Auto
Skip messing with Developer mode and resolution settings. Skip buying an 8k HDMI cable as I thought my cables were cheap. Any HDMI 2.0 cable is good enough.
1. Plug everything up to the TV and to the Steam Deck.
2. Turn on Steam Deck and TV.
3. At this point you will have no signal and the connection troubleshoot doesnt help.
4. Now, unplug the POWER cable to the Steam DOCK but leave in the top connector to the Steam DECK.
5. The screen on your Steam Deck will light up and then go dark again.
6. After a few seconds your TV should pick up signal. Note: your TV may ask you to setup the remote for this device because it doesnt think its a PC. Hit cancel or setup later.
7. Now plug the power USB-C cable back into your Steam DOCK.
This works for me everytime now. It sucks that I to unplug the power connector to the Dock everytime because this is going to cause unnecessary wear and tear on the cable and port over time which is going to cause a lot of us to send it back for replacement.
Good luck.
Has anyone figured this out? Unplugging the power cord from the dock does not work.
Updating the OS to 3.3.2 does not work.
Changing the resolution and refresh rate in desktop mode does not work.
Switched to Beta channel, the same issue is occurring.
Unplugging the power while the Steam Deck is docked will get the image to display on-screen, and the power can be re-plugged in while maintaining an image on the TV. If the HDMI cable is unplugged and re-plugged in after this, the issue starts again and no image is displayed. The power *must* be unplugged and re-plugged in each time this issue occurs.
