Steam Deck

Steam Deck

My Deck's sound output while docked is really low while its hooked up to a capture card.
Basically I dock my deck, and then plug the HDMI into my Elgato HD60S. It works just fine, but the sound it outputs is extremely quiet, I've only been able to remedy this by creating a seperate Audio profile in OBS that increases the volume by 20db. Gets it at a acceptable volume, but it also has that slight fuzziness in the background.

I was wondering if there was a workaround for this or if I was missing something. Thank you

I've noticed that if the volume is low on the Deck itself, it affects the volume output to the external display. Try turning up the volume on the Deck itself before docking it.

Since this is one of the first Google results let me also add that if you go to the audio settings, "speakers" is very likely the steam deck speakers, and if you're having a hard time hearing your TV or sound system speakers make sure that the bar for the volume is all the way up in the audio settings. Mine was like 40% and I didn't even realize that it was even sending sound to my TV setup.
