[SOLVED] Steam Dock not working with Dell SE2722HX
Just paid for a brand new Steam Dock for my deck. First, Gaming Mode worked perfectly with my monitor out of the box. Idk what happened, but now, when I dock my deck. My monitor gives me this error:

"The current input timing not supported by the monitor display. Please change your input timing to 1920x1080, 60hz or any other monitor listed timing as per the monitor specifications."

Here's what I've tried:

1. Ensuring External Display Safe Mode is on
2. Adjusting the display settings in Desktop mode to ostensibly meet the requirements of the aforementioned error and applying those settings.
3. Endless combinations of booting from desktop mode, from gaming mode, from desktop mode into gaming mode and visa versa, while docked and undocked with the dock powered and unpowered, in-game and out-of-game.
4. Replacing the HDMI cable.
5. Unplugging my monitor for 10 minutes
6. Updating my Steam Deck.
7. Going into the Properties of individual games and forcing the Game Resolution from "Default" to the resolution requested by the aforementioned error.

I tried rebooting the firmware or whatever, but I could not get that to work, as far as I can tell. Should I Factory Reset my Deck?

Can anyone help me, please? I want to believe in Valve. :palm_tree:

My friend, thank you. After days of research, I coincidentally found the post to which you linked just before you replied. I've been able to enjoy my dock now since.
Thank you, again.:OctaSquare:

Valve, are you seeing this?

I do not know how Valve can help other than provide an Edid file to gamescope and kde. Seems like a parsing problem with the monitor edid. The parser hit an invalid edid config.

I'm not knowledgeable enough to agree or disagree. I'm just some average, recovering-console-gamer guy. I take your word for it though. Myself, I have no idea what would go into fixing this. I do know my Dell Monitor is brand new and pretty nice. But maybe it is the monitor.

It does seem like a lot of people have issues with the dock for one reason or another. I would be regretting my purchase, and Valve would have lost some trust with me (they at least have me on edge a little with this whole ordeal), were it not for people like you.

If I were at Valve, I would want to make every effort to make sure stuff like this stopped happening. I don't remember seeing the solution from our linked post pinned by Valve in their own words in the community hub. They could at least do something like that. Whatever. I got mine! GOOD LUCK, EVERYBODY ELSE!

And thanks again, deaddoof:senpai:
