Steam deck blinking when docked
When i plug my USB Type C directly into the steam deck it is charging properly, but when i connect the same cable (original one from the box) into the dock and then connect the deck through the dock, it seems to stop charging intermittently and the led indicator is blinking. Anyone has the same issue?

Yes! My TV audio also drops regularly and my Samsung TV has a hard time holding the input because of this

Yes I am also having the same issue, the steam deck dock screen keeps flickering when docked using the usb-c connection and doesn't charge either. The first official dock didn't work and I saw immediate flickering, the second official dock worked after only connecting to it maybe twice before having the same issue recur, I tried a non-official dock and it seemed to work fine, so I decided to buy a second one, but now I am encountering the same issue with the non-official dock, now I am beginning to believe it may be an issue with the steam deck itself. Nothing but frustration. I have tried reading some community posts on changing the resolution of the display and the framerate but not had any luck fixing the issue with these tweaks and changes. I have even tried changing the hdmi to a brand new one, but still no troubleshooting methods I have tried has resolved the issues I have been having from the beginning. The steam deck seems to only work in handheld mode at present. The only other solution I can think of to try is to reset the entire steam deck to factory settings wiping all my games and save data, but if it's a hardware issue, this will not fix it and I end up losing all my files in the process over some probably faulty usb-c port or voltage issue.

Did you manage to find a solution? I had the same thing with mine and could only get it to work but unplugging the usbc power, connecting the deck to the dock, selecting the correct source on the TV and then plugging the power back in. I have to do this every time though and it’s a bit annoying.

Hi unfortunately no resolution has been found. My first steam deck was returned and replaced but I am having the exact same issue with the replacement. Steam Support and Steam Repairs apparently do not communicate so are unable to explain to me what is causing this issue with the flickering when attempting to dock the steam deck. I thought they would give me answers but they do not seem to know what is causing the issue with it either. They have just given me a new return label to return my steam deck again but this time for a full refund only so they have given up too on this matter it seems there is no solution can't tell me if it's even the resolution issue or a branding issue between Valve and Samsung TVs since the Steam Link app no longer exists and I do not know if it is a USB-C port or a HDMI port or cable issues. No one seems to know. You're lucky your method still works mine only worked for so long... And I have still to find a work around... I might have to see if I can go to another person's house and test it on a different branded TV next... Prior to return because it is an expensive item that does not work as advertised and once the warranty goes then I doubt Valve will still be in a position to help resolve the ongoing matter. I may have to rebuy a replacement once they sort the issue out maybe on the next upgraded edition they make might work better if such a thing will exist... I am just super disappointed. In the end I had to buy a couple of steam link devices to play on my TV remotely instead and had to buy these from a third party got totally ripped off and now I am stuck with steam deck accessories. Total nightmare!

This is a nightmare. Using an JSAUX dock, was looking to get the steam deck dock but it seems from multiple online sources the issue persists with it that as well.
Issue seems far less persistent when the battery is below %90.
Perhaps valve could fix it by implementing a charge limiting option.

I have this problem as well with a new Steam Deck OLED. Never had this problem with my trusty LCD, so I’m kinda bummed :/ Something about power negotiation between the dock and the Steam Deck…I dunno

Try changing the USB to xhci mode in the bios.

Using a 3rd party dock that was blinking when power connected changing to xhci in bios resolved connectivity issue for me.
