HDMI signal not detected
Issue: Official dock does not always output HDMI signal.

Issue only seems to appear with official dock.

As it happens randomly, I don’t know how it can be recreated. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

I have followed all troubleshooting provided by support with no resolve, and was told to post it here.

It doesn’t matter if the Deck is powered on before or after connecting to the dock.

The only (temporary) fix I have found is to unplug the PSU from the dock until the signal is detected, then plug the PSU back in. Issue returns next time the dock is used.

Just another "me too". Panasonic LCD TV. Dock gives no signal, or noise. 3rd party HDMI-Dongle (Anker) works fine.

I also opened a ticket with Steam Support for it, asking if the current beta might include a newer dock firmware than the stable release channel.... let's see what happens...

An interesting development in my experience. I bought my wife a deck after they left reservation queue. Her deck works as expected when connecting to the dock.

Mine was bought during reservation queue and it still doesn’t immediately detect HDMI and I have to disconnect the PD cable to get a signal.

Steam Support solved my problem by having me boot into the bios and restarting in Storage mode. Once in Storage mode, we just restarted the device again and it's worked every time since then.

That didn't work for me.
Am I supposed to enable storage mode while still plugged in?

Anyone tried with DisplayPort to HDMI?

I seem to have much better luck with my 1440p 16x9 monitor. Forcing my ultra-wide to 16x9 mode didn't help.

I believe I only reset it just once (but that could've been when I was re-arranging my setup).

I think its software related on the Deck itself, as I have this issue crop up periodically on both the official dock and an off-brand Amazon dock. Will work perfectly fine for days as long as I sleep it instead of shut it down. If I shut it down, its a crapshoot on if it will output to HDMI or not. If it doesnt, I find taking it into battery storage mode off the dock and then turning it back on while docked almost always fixes it.
This is a bitter disappointment. The official dock is not a cheap option. The whole point of spending the extra money was having proper compatibility.
Ever since I got the dock connection to our Samsung "The Frame" has been hit or miss.
Recently it seems to have gotten worse and there's days I can literally try anything and not get a connection. The Switch and Playstation never had so much as a hickup.

Same here, Samsung TV seem to be the worst, right now. Don´t no what to to do next.
I tried over and over again for so ducking long then the only thing I needed to do was unplug everything and I felt so dumb

You are not dumb at all. HDMI is created by the same genius who created the sony rootkit. The same rootkit that messed up many Windows machines. They had a bright idea and inserted digital right management into a damn connector standard. Yes, your TV has DRM and you TV will reject signals thinking you are a pirate for playing your legally own games. How do I know? After every damn TV firmware update, the TV will forget that I am a pirate and work all the sudden. Complain to your TV manufacture. Their HDCP DRM is broken on default. Tell them to allow displayport because HDMI just doesn't work.

I also had issues with the official Steam Deck Dock, even after updating firmware of the Dock. But for me it helped to change HDMI mode in the settings of my Samsung TV for the desired HDMI port, from Default to Optimized. Now everything works fine.

This annoys the hell out of me.
I have the original dock, tried different working cables and ports.
I get everything else to work fine on my Philips 65" 4K TV.
Steamdeck via dock just says no.

I have the same problem. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, why am I spending money on this original accessory when it doesn't work? It's HDMI. What am I having a problem with HDMI, of all things??
