"Make sure the unit is powered on first, then hold the "-" volume button and "..." button at the same time for 5-8 seconds until you hear a beep. The beep will signify the reset is complete."
He told me it resets the PD controller. Unsure what that means but it worked. You get the prompt to update the dock firmware and stuff should work.
Hope it helps!
What actually helped me is to first connect the dock to HDMI, power and the Steam Deck itself and then turn on the Steam Deck. Then nothing happens, and the monitor stays black.
I then turned off my monitor for about 10 seconds and then turned it back on. After that, the signal was transmitted. I suspect that by turning the monitor on and off, the HDMI EDID data was transmitted correctly, which was not the case before.
"Gabe New we have a problem" here
Seems very boring issue, some one in community talking about that can be fixed by software lines, so idk if community of linux in Valve software is open to let community improve or do some fixes
Here at home We have Steam deck 1gen, but dockstation we give try with Ivoler 6 in 1, model which is available on internet, official one I read some bad reviews and not available so I think soon in 2gen we have many stuff to improve
So We tried 2 differents HDMI cable, both cables in steam deck get black screen but on TV stay No signal, It is a LCD LG 32" maybe it is a 3years or more this model
but other stuff runs well, may can be software or hardware compatibilities, idk if just runs HDMI 2.0 or can do with 2.1 or 2.1a or 2.0a
We always listen about news tech and batteries should come, the now days, and change everything, sure knowledge exists for it in tech market to exist many stuff, but with scheduled obsolescence where life span is been reduced to keep the market machine running and income for few
I'm gonna return this dock and go for a JSAUX one.
Yes, I could get an EDID adapter, but the additional cost over an already pricey dock does not make sense to me. I just want ethernet (for streaming) and HDMI out.
I use an unofficial Dock, worked perfectly for days, weeks and running Horizon Zero Dawn for hours yesterday paused for a while, when I returned display had swapped to Deck only, no amount of TV/Monitor/HDMI cable or USB-C PD cable swapping has any effect. External display does not show in settings in either Desktop or Gaming Mode anymore. Dock works as flawlessly with other devices as it used to with the SteamDeck.
Kinda bumming me out.
Less Bummed Now Never heard a beep but after doing this I now have external Monitor again Thanks to sTRO-Buh-eri Feb 10 @ 11:43pm
It did!
Thank you, I believe this fixed the issue for me!
