Please please support some type of screen-sharing to friends
My long-distance partner and I both have a Deck and want to stream games to each other, but haven’t found a reliable way without a bunch of workarounds. This is the one reason we end up using our PC’s instead of a Deck. Here’s what we’ve tried:

1) Playing on my deck and streaming to Steam on my PC, which I stream over discord:
This works sometimes, but occasionally the stream will go black and eventually the deck will crash and restart. It also requires more setup than I often want to do.

2) Broadcasting to Steam friends from Deck:
I can send the “invite to watch”, but when friends accept it, it just says “waiting for broadcast to start”

3) Discord on Deck:
I went to desktop mode, installed Discord, discord-screenaudio, vencord, and webcord; then added them to steam.
3a) Discord Desktop mode, all clients can all stream another window (all but the official one can do audio); but steam input seems to stop working on the game.
3b) Discord gaming mode: the official client can still stream a game, but still without audio. The three other clients stream audio, but the game window shows up as black.

I feel like there are a bunch of configurations that almost work, but none that work completely. I’ve submitted a few bugs to the relevant places.

(For reference, most of this testing has been done with Bomb Rush Cyberfunk and Fear & Hunger 2: Termina. I’m also on the Steam beta client.)

I’m begging those on the Steam Deck team, whether it is fully supporting broadcasting in Gaming Mode, or working with Discord to get audio working, please please support streaming in some fashion.

It’s be nice if while using my tv wirelessly I could still game steam chat. But the store and chat get disconnected to stream to the Apple TV. Kinda makes the steam deck worthless.

I'm running into this wall too. I wish there was a reliable way to do screensharing, and it's very disappointing that Valve's own streaming solution doesn't work on their own hardware.
This is the primary function I'd be looking for to switch to using Steam's voip calls instead of Discord primarily.
