this forum thread provides a few bits of context and also some alternative ways to run it on linux which should apply to the Steam Deck as well:
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/gfn-general-chat/20/303146/geforce-now-on-linux/
in short, if you really want GFN you can:
a) use the google chrome app on the deck (should work well even in Gaming mode, as long as the website isn't using too many exotic hacks or isn't too janky compared to their dedicated app)
b) install "Bottles" from the Discovery store in Desktop mode and use that to install and run the windows GFN app
c) install the 3rd-party "gfn-electron" from the Discovery store in Desktop mode as an alternative way to get GFN to run in a dedicated browser window
ps: I don't really like GFN for several reasons, but I believe it's always better to have choice

You can add Edge as a non-steam game multiple times - to get separate icons per service - and just copy the URL updating the address each time to add other cloud-based services that support the Gamepad API.
Their instructions for Xbox Cloud are here:

Search gforce on discover, then install it.
I've got a GE Force Now account for improving game performance vs the deck (BG3 in FD)
Problem is that I have to use a web browser to use GE Force Now as although the GFN Windows App functions it don't run any games cos it don't know what the GPU is - Chrome/Edge however are fine.
It strill annoys me that the GFN app don't support the Deck - I doubt it'd work on an ROG Ally either as a result...
Why are you annoyed? Anyone who follows Nvidia business dealing knows they only sign contracts on their terms. OP. Give up. The Linux community generally wants to pretend Nvidia does not exist. Every wonder about the display and input bugs on the Steam deck. I will give you a hint, Nvidia waste so many million dollars of Linux resources. Their politics hurt us.
