Feature idea: Automatic WINE / Proton for desktop exe files

On windows you can double click an exe file and it will automatically run. On SteamOS desktop, I usually end up manually adding an exe as a non-Steam game to get it to run through Proton so it will work properly. The idea would basically just be to automate that process: running an exe would just do it immediately with the correct compatibility layer (ideally in a way that would not clutter your Steam library).

This would simply just make life easier, especially for those of us moving over from Windows.

It should all be tied to 1 Proton registry as well, to make data transfer much easier
