Time Overlay

I was trying out the Steam Deck for a couple weekday evenings and found out, much to my shock, that I tend to lose track of time while playing games.

I'd like to therefore request a time overlay, so you stay aware of the time and not play after midnight, when you should sleep in time for work. ^^'

It would also be nice, if an alarm function would be included.
Maybe also a function similar to the iOS Screen Time to track how much time we spend on gaming.

jokes aside, you can probably tweak mangohud (the software used by Valve on the Deck to provide its configurable overlay) to show the system time..

Ah, thank you for posting a workaround. =) I'll try that out. It would be great, though, if this would be added as a regular Steam Deck feature, considering it already has overlay functions.

I know how you feel, it’s a damn rabbit hole at times. Another quick workaround is to press the steam button and pull up the interface, but I even forget to do that sometimes.

Ooo... I might try this to get my battery readout without a giant block of stats on my screen.
Does anyone know if it persists through an OS update?

I second this feature request. I love my Deck, but it can easily turn a lunch break into an unproductive day.
