Better way to have Deck function as "steam link"? not just streaming
I understand that streaming in some ways is the same, but are there plans for the steam deck to be docked to a TV and STEAM LINK it so its actually taking over in big picture mode or similar?

Unless I'm missing something, i feel like when i used to use the steam link stuff on my TV it worked way better in both quality and function. When i "stream" a game from my gaming PC in another room, the quality is significantly degraded and often stutters when i felt like the deck should just be handling a re-stream it seems like it struggles.

My setup is a pretty beefy gaming PC and ALL hardwired lines through the house / switches until it gets to the hardwired steam deck dock at the TV. It almost feels like the "streaming" function though is almost going through the internet instead of a local connection that should be WAY more than enough bandwidth to handle the 1440p 60hz game.. but the quality hit and stuttering says otherwise. I feel like this all worked just fine when i used a random android TV or TV box that i could put steam link on.

ANOTHER thing that sucks is steam LINK used to allow me to remotely shutdown the other PC or even hop into desktop mode. Steam STREAM seems to only allow me to stream a game that is actively running or installed on that PC, i cannot browse or even just shut down that computer.

Is there a way to do "steam Link" instead of streaming with the deck? are there settings or options to force a better LAN connection, or at least diagnose, when streaming if thats the issue? Is this a limitation of the dock or its USB connection for both display and power?

I would buy more DECKs for the versatility if it functioned better but i cannot justify it right now because the quality and stability are sometimes nauseating.
