Please allow lower trigger deadzones
The deadzones at 0 are still too high, I have to press the trigger about 20% to register an input. I have done a trigger_cal calibration multiple times, so it's not that.

I have to use an external tool such as https://github.com/kasvtv/steam_deck_overwrite_trigger_cal to recalibrate my deadzones so that there is better sensitivity, but this resets on sleep/wake or restarts, so it is not a permanent fix.

Please look into this, many driving and racing gamers would appreciate this greatly! Currently, it's deterring me from playing these games on my Steam Deck because of the large deadzones. :(

Are you for real?? The Deck's triggers actually read down to the physical trigger-stop?! I figured the awkward triggers were down to the pots physically engaging late along the trigger path.

I wonder why can't this be accessed in the controls ui..

Because as-is the triggers are indeed very cumbersome for using with racing games. Right now it's an awkward guess as to when they engage, which makes it WAY harder than necessary to feather brakes or throttle.
