Steam Deck

Steam Deck

Please, Increase touchscreen sensitivity
I wrote a message to technical support, I'm also posting it here, hoping it could be useful to obtain an update about it:

"My Steam Deck no longer has more problems than others. I wanted to highlight the poor touchscreen feedback of the LCD version. When it comes to simply clicking something, sometimes it misses a touch, requiring a re-click. The bigger issue arises when needing to scroll through a screen or drag something. It's as if the touchscreen responds slowly and loses sensitivity and reactivity. I'm certain it's not just my issue, as I've tried two other friends' Steam Decks and one I returned because, apart from other button issues, I believed this touchscreen problem was unique.

I'm not sure if it's possible, but I believe it could be fixed with an update or patch, so I wanted to provide my feedback. I'm not sure how this could be done, maybe by allowing sensitivity adjustments in the settings or simply correcting it and releasing it with an update.

It's a real pity not being able to play games where the touchscreen is predominant or emulate touchscreen console games (of which I own the original copies, to be clear), where I could play childhood games on a larger and better screen.

Thank you, and I hope this feedback is useful."

I hope you can support me in this if you also feel the need for improvement in this regard. Help me make this request visible to the developers by commenting and reacting.

I anticipate a possible question: the issue is present in any usage context of the console. It occurs when I need to move a file by dragging it on the desktop, just as when I have to click or scroll something in gaming mode.

Yeah, same experience since launch. I assumed that it was the absimally low touchscreen sampling rate, but I'm not that sure without knowing internal specs. I hope that it can be improved with a touchscreen firmware update, but after all of the wireless issues I doubt they will do anything at all at this point.
