Steam Deck

Always show account selection upon boot
Currently, Steam Deck only shows the account selection initially to add an account. Once a selection is made, it always automatically logs in to that user account until a manual account switch is triggered.

I share my Steam Deck with another user quite regularly and it becomes a hassle to always boot up into the last used account, go through the menus, log out, wait for the process (which sometimes takes quite long) and login to the desired account.

It would be a nice quality-of-life feature for those who share their Steam Deck, to have a toggle in settings that will disable automatic logging in to the last user account and instead always show the account selection menu upon boot.

If you launch the desktop version of steam on deck and click on the icon at the top left - settings- interface you can set it to boot into account select on startup.

I did this about an hour ago and it works. Hope this helps.

This works indeed, thank you! I didn't think of the differences between desktop mode settings and game mode settings.

Hopefully they will also add this option to the game mode in the future.
