it should be:
Stable
Beta
Preview
No it doesn't. Calling it "main" sounds like it is the main branch and not a preview past the Beta.
It's a preview branch for development. It isn't the main branch.
I did.
It's still a preview branch for development. It's labeled appropriately for users because it's labeled based on what it is.
You don't release a beta build of something and tell people it's the 'main build' because it's the main one you are working on.
Doesn't matter if it only shows when developer mode is enabled.
Enabling it is the matter of a simple switch and has been recommended multiple times to regular users on these forums for issues or features they may want. It needs to be named in the way any user would understand it.
The Deck is a average user device first, that's why the naming scheme makes sense the way it is.
Developers also understand what 'preview' means, thus there is no issue in keeping it the same.
Normal developer goes through this cycle.
Personal branch -> merge into main -> move to preview/dev/alpha -> beta -> release.
Main is a branch meant to be share with all other developers.
and this is valves issue how? you should complain that the local construction zone isn't safe for kids to play either.
indeed it is a user device first, that's why developer options are hidden from people like you.
You assume I haven't turned them on to look into preview and beta builds.
You would be wrong.
Uh huh.
I completely understand the backwards logic you're attempting. Doesn't make it right.
But please, keep trying to condescending comments.
